Can you ladies please offer some appetizer recipes or suggestions on a mid-afternoon shower. I'm hosting one for my girlfriend and I can't get my mind set on what to suggest to her. I've looked all over. I will definitely include mini sandwhiches, but not too sure on appetizers and sides and such. Also, if anyone knows any really good recipes with Nutella, I would appreciate it.

Mid afternoon with a bunch of women? That screams Sangria and chocolate things!

Make a batch of small muffins (any recipe that compliments chocolate) with a drop of Nutella in the middle before baking.

Croissant puffs - cut up croissant rolls into small squares, place in greased mini muffin tins, stuff with sauteed minced vegatables, top with parmesean cheese, bake until golden brown.

you could do some salads. Pasta salad is always good. You could cut up some fruit and make a strawberry yogurt dip?

For wedding or a baby shower if you go with the mini sandwiches you might want to do all "mini" food...mini pizzas, mushrooms stuffed with cream cheeses, stuffed cherry tomatoes, etc...and mini cheesecakes, just had them for Easter, superb! They were by Nancy's, $4.99 for the box of 32, all I did was thaw them for 20 minutes and top with a dollop of fruit.

And as far as Nutella...take 2 vanilla wafers, sandwich them together with Nutella and dip in melted white chocolate, let harden on parchment paper, yum!

Quesadillas are a WONDERFUL finger food - you can put just about anything into them and create many dips as well.
Strawberries with Creme Fresh are perfect for this sesaon as a dessert item, you can serve it in plastic martini or champaign glasses from the dollar store.

My daughter wanted a tea party birthday, so we sampled a few tea houses. The stand out tea sandwich was Nutella and sliced strawberry on white, no crusts of course! So simple and delicious!

Enjoy your party!
