Melaleuca Products?? - Evergreen,CO

So has anyone used these products?? I have ZERO interest in becoming a rep for the company, but I sat through a presentation and like what I heard, if it's true and am thinking about purchasing some products and joining, but want to know what people think of the products themselves. Do they clean well? Do the hair care products work well? What about the makeup?? I would prefer to hear just from people who are customers and not working for the company, obviously I know you love the products. My sister swears by the lotion for her daughter's eczema.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Update: I think I am more confused than ever! Some say the products are great, some say they are horrible, some say the company is legit and the products are as "green" as they say they are, some say they aren't. My rep just offered me $1 membership fee...so maybe I will try?? Is there a website to see what the product ingredients are.

I've been a customer for a year and am about to quit, mostly because of cost but also because I no longer believe their "environmental friendly" jargon. Every month they send catalogs and flyers with my orders! Not so friendly to those forests they are chopping down! I like the products pretty well, but think there are probably suitable alternatives that cost less at my local grocery store. I liked the kids hand soap but found it expensive. I thought the laundry products worked well. I think my favorite thing is the disinfectant, since I can spray it on the kids table without worrying about harmful residue. My husband is a window washer and found that the window cleaner (which he normally wouldn't use) worked great on some hard water spots. I hate the smell of the tub and tile cleaner that someone else said they like. I guess everyone is entitled to her own opinion, and there's mine!

I tried the lotion and was allergic. It's pine based and some people are sensitive to their oils. I won't use them. GL!

Hi B.!
I do not like the products at all. Mostly they were ineffective and still contained many ingredients that regular store brands carry.

Parabens, petroleum products, synthetic fragrances and dyes are all a part of Melaleuca's ingredient lists, but even the most seasoned Melaleuca rep does not know the complete list of ingredients.
There are many people who don't know how to use the products, and they work for the company! Melaleuca Oil (tea tree) should never be ingested or used undiluted on the skin, yet I see so many suggestions for use that are actually harmful.

I had horrible problems with the company's customer service, the products ruined parts of my home, and my son and I suffered severe damage to our skin from a couple different products.

Melaleuca and it's reps are very hesitant to aknowledge that their products could cause any harm and the money back guarantee is a complete joke.
You need to meet their point requirement each month, which is probably a minimum of $80, plus a high shipping cost, along with sales tax and gas tax.

I am much happier with other products I have found. Melaleuca laundry soap made my clothes dingy and I have found that Charlie's Soap is much, much better!
I found so many products that are cheaper and healthier to replace all my Melaleuca products.

Good luck in your decision!

I tried the products based on what I had read. I really didn't see anything great. Reading the labels, they are not "all natural" as I had heard. The laundry soap did not do a great job and actually ended up costing more that what I paid otherwise. I have kids so I have some really dirty clothes. The stain solution did nothing for stains on my kids clothes. The Renew lotion, though others state it works great for them, did nothing for my winter-dry skin, let alone my daughters eczema. The one item I really liked was the tub and tile cleaner. That stuff smells fantastic and did a really great job but not worth getting $65 of other products every month. I have not tried the makeup though since we only got the products for 4 or 5 months.

I don't like the products. The glass cleaner left a film on all my windows it was gross, the laundry detergant did not work well, and if you do research you will find that they are not as natural as they claim. You can get better products that are more natural at your grocery stores.

Here's what I recommend you do. Do one initial order. Then compare your price total with what something currently costs at walmart.com or other online store. I did that with my first order, and even taking into account the shipping costs with Melaleuca, I'm still saving money every month. So for me it's a win-win. I get to save money on my groceries and also don't have toxic products in my home. I'm feeling good about it. So don't go by emotion. Actually calculate everything out and you'll see it's a great value.

I have used Melaleuca products sense I was 18, I am almost 33. My husband worked for them for 6 years, we got free products every month. Yes I used them because they were free. Yes I liked them.

We did not stop using them when he was fired. They have improved the products 10 fold in 6 years.

You do have to buy 35 points a month. I spend between 55 and 80 depending on what I buy. Their stain remover(laundry) does not work. But they have the only laundry soap my 7 year old can use. We will not use any other dishwasher soap. Its safe and it works.

Now yes I live in IF I get to walk to the store. No shipping for me. But shipping runs about 10 bucks on most orders.

The money back promise is just that, you will get your money back. I know this because I have had to cancel memberships for people I signed up.

DO NOT sign up under someone who is just trying to make money off you. Sign up under someone who cares and will do their best to help you out. Ask them how many others they have under them. Ask them if you can talk to their other members. See if they really do help with whatever problems come up.

I have never used the shampoo. Sorry. Sol U Mel is completely awesome, I spray everything my baby wears with it before it goes in the washer. You will not find ONE formula or spit up or baby food stain on any of his clothes.

Good Luck

I have used these products for almost 3 years. This is this one of the most reputable companies around, and the products DO work. Most of the comments I see on here are inaccurate. You DO buy directly from the company, NOBODY sells anybody products. They simply help you set up an account so you can buy DIRECTLY from the company. The ingredients are much higher quality than store products because they don't have to pay for advertising, etc, or the water that you add to the products. You can quit at ANY time, but I don't know why you would want to. The lies come from the products are your store shelves because the FDA does NOT oversee what's in the products, many which contain toxins and chemicals dangerous to people and the environment. Their customer service is excellent, I have even had them send me new product for free when it was MY mistake in ordering. People who say they're having problems are leaving out part of the story or just making it up.

I love the melaleuca products. I don't sell it but i do purchase the laundry items, dish soaps, lotions, bath soaps, and general purpose cleaners. I have never been disappointed by their ability to clean and it feels so much better not using chemicals all the time! Plus, the solumel and tea tree oil has like 100 other uses besides what is listed on the bottle!

I like their cleaning products, and especially enjoyed their baby/kid soap. That's all I tried though. If you're interested in the products, it's definitely cheaper to try them out purchasing from a rep. I got roped into a monthly buy from them and eventually had to cancel 'cause it was a minimum $70 order every month! A gentleman rep for them told me I just wasn't shown how to shop the site properly for orders....anyway, I like the products and just wish they were available on store shelves rather than associative as it is.

I was just a customer for about 18 months but I cancelled right before my son was born (he will be 3 in January). A coworker is a rep and pitched to me. I was interested in a "healthier home" and signed up. I actually liked the detergent, floor cleaner and window cleaner. I never bought the vitamins but I have another friend who swears that they truly did make her feel better/more energetic. The Renew lotion also worked very well. Since I was not a vitamin user (they contribute to about 1/2 of your min spend), I often ended up buying stuff I did not necessarily want/need to meet the minimum purchase points required each month. This is because it is true that their cleaning products are very concentrated and you don't have to buy them often. I got sick of being forced into spending about 65 each month (after shipping/min. points). Also, when I was pregnant, my research mode went into overdrive regarding exactly what kind of chemicals I wanted to avoid to keep my home healthy for the arrival of a newborn. It was not as simple as it should have been to locate a complete ingredients list for every product (it may be better now). Also, the "natural" market grew during this time as well. It became easier for me to find concentrated cleaning products, skin care etc that did not contain the parabens, pthalate, fragrance etc that I was trying to avoid for my soon to be little one. When I joined, there was no long term committment...so if it is still that way, there is no harm signing up for a month or so to see what you think. If it is not now, I suspect they still have free enrollments etc throughout the year.

Hi--
Melalueca products work well, but they are not green as the company promotes. I know that a lot of people will get really mad at me for saying this, but they are not natural products. They have a lot of chemicals in them, some even known cancer-causing agents. So, yes, they work---but if you are considering them because of their environmentally friendly marketing then you are buying into the hype. There are much better, and cheaper products that are much greener. If this is important to you I can share some of those with you.

I tried it out one time bc a friend was selling it. I did NOT like that you have to order a certain amount each month (they put in terms of "points" so I didn't realize what that meant in dollars till I signed up). It was WAY more than I normally spend on that kind of stuff a month. So, after only 3 months I had to write the company a letter to quit. The products seem fine, but I can get non-toxic earth friendly products at Trader Joes and my local grocery store for less money. Also, the lotion everyone was raving about smells really bad to me!!!

I am a rep but am new to the company. I have several family members that are just customers. We all love the products. The cleaners clean, the laundry detergent cleans well, the personal care products work great, and my husband and I have noticed a real difference since starting the vitamins. Better still, they are non-toxic and safe for the family (which you know since you already heard the presentation).

I have a lot of allergies so I was concerned I would have a problem (especially since a lot of products are plant based). I don't have a problem even w/ the perfume (I normally can't wear any perfume because they give me headaches as soon as I put them on). I am so glad I found Melaleuca.

Example - I smeared RED icing on my white t-shirt a few months ago. I didn't change immediately and later fell asleep wearing it so it was definately dried in. The next day I sprayed it with prespot and Sol-U-Mel (red icing NEVER comes out so I figured I would attack it with some extra stain fighting power). Then I washed it with the Mela Power 6 and Mela Brite (also used Mela Soft since I was doing a whole load of laundry). Stains gone and shirt is brighter than ever.

Cost-wise I did my own comparison and for the same number or loads of laundry I pay less than half as much for Mela Power as I would have Tide (which is what I used to use).

My mom was a customer but because you are required to order every single month and she wasn't using everything fast enough, it started to stress her out so she cancelled. The products are ok, you just have to make sure you keep up with using them so you don't over order.

I am just a customer and have no interest in building. I have benn using products for over a year now. I LOVE the cleaning products, laundry soap is great. I exceed the 35 product points each month (mine are more around 75). I also love the chapstick. I didnt much care for the shampoo to be honest, I am kind of a shampoo snob and use Pureology. I dont ware makeup as well so cant comment on that. The bath soaps are great, I ise the silver one. I LOVE the renew lotion and handwash, works really well. I get their candle of the month and almost all the smells are great. Their 1st aid kit and supplies are wonderful as well. I use the tea tree oil in my daughters humidifier w/ some sol u mel when she is sick and it really helps her. I also use sol u mel w laundry to wash my MIL pads that go on her bed, it really helps with the oders. I think all the cleaning products clean great and like that they dont have that chemical smell to them. The tub and tile cleaner gets all the grit off our shower floor and door. we use the vitamins and my husband loves the protien shake, he drinks it everymorning, If you have specific ?s about a specific product feel free to PM me, I have no problem giving you my honest opinion. I have converted my home to all their cleaning products so I can also tell you what works best for what. If you decide to join see if you signup can give you the Melaleuca book that has all the uses for their products.

here is what I wrote to the company:

"I cannot find products from you all that are better and less costly than elsewhere.

Why do you not have melaleuca in your chapstick?

Why all the chemicals and high cost?

Why can't individuals purchase directly from Melaleuca?
If the product is so great, why won't my friends refer me to Melaleuca for free?
Why do your training videos talk about flattery and getting potential customers to focus on something besides the reason they do not have a good conscience about this? Why not trust God and let people think about it and research it?
Why promote fear and all the control?

Why obligate my friends to spend hours of their life trying to get customers, when we would naturally spread the word and allow them to shop there because the product "is really healthy and cheaper".

Because it is not. Because you are trying to make money off of people causing others to wasting hours getting people locked into a codependent relationship, just as they themselves have been trapped into doing."
really, why not buy direct? If you want to help people out, help them to get jobs and become their own entrepreneurs, not co-dependent with and working hard for the wealth of Melaleuca.

Why not help us to save money and sell it to us at the better rate? why lie about the products? Why? :)

I have been using the Melaleuca products for about 5 years now. I tried doing the selling thing, but I am not a saleslady. I use them because the work, and I love them. We use the all the laundry products. I love that they don't have th overwhelming fumes and the Prespot that you put on stains before you wash is miraculous! I love the hair products, the styling products don't leave my hair stiff but it cuts down the frizz. I use the cleaning and dishwashing products, again there isn't an overwhelming smell. The pros have definitely out weighed the cons. Some people don't like that you have to purchase so much per month. But for me, I love the products, and they last longer and are healthier. And I would buy cleaning, laundry and personal care products anyways. Good luck!

I was a customer of the company. Yes the products are great but I'm not a particular fan of how they set things up with the orders being shipped automatically. I was really bad at telling them the items I wanted shipped. My shipping location was lousy at the time so there were some orders I never received but that wasn't the fault of Melaleuca. I still have the oil that we for skin issues. However this product did nothing for my neice's eczema. She now uses a mixture of raw shea butter blended with almond and jojoba oils and any essential oils she wants to smell like at the time. I really miss their cleaning products but my finances aren't flexible to fit this in with how I get paid and how they bill.

I've been shopping with Melaleuca for over 6 years and would not go back to store brand products. Mela Reps may claim the products to be "all natural" but Melaleuca themselves do not make that claim. They simply tell you what harmful chemicals are not being used in any of their products.

I can personally tell you that after suffering from migraines since high school (I'm 41 years old now) the migraines stopped after I stopped bringing store brand cleaning products into my home and switched to ther EcoSense cleaning products. So all natural or not, no more migraines is no more mirgraines!

I actually just tried their eye liner 2 months ago. I had so many bad experiences with eye liners over the years that I never gave theirs a try until recently. You know what, I love it! It DOES NOT not irritate my eyes as expected based on my prior experience with other brands. It's not uncommon for strangers to comment on my skin and my make up.

I am African American and it is not chemically treated. I love the ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner for me and my 2 daughters.

As far as the Renew lotion (and the detergent when used correctly) my friend's kids no longer scratch themselves until they bleed.

I think some people may not explain to others that Melaleuca's products do not work like store brand so you must follow the instructions. (For example, you cannot pour the detergent into the wash on top of clothes. It's 6x concentrated and requires to mix with the water first. As soon as you see suds, then add the clothes.) Like I said, I've been shopping online with them for over 6 years. I cannot see myself going back to store brands.

I would like to answer your question. My name is A. and I am a marketing executive for this company. Now, in order for us to be able to know about the products we have to use the products ourselves and I have to say that I was really amazed at how well the products worked. You say that you daughter has eczema right, then you need to use renew lotion for her as it takes this away. I have had all kinds of issue with my skin because of me being heavy and the problems that I use to have like having a yeast infection under my breast has gone away.

Since I have used Renew, I have not seen it not once. The vitamins give you energy and help you with your over all health, like high blood pressure and they have specific products that help with memory, ADHD, and so much more. The reality of it is, you have to try these products for yourself so that you will understand what I am explaining to you.

I hope that this helps you out a whole lot and please do not listen to what so many people say about this being a scam. I wouldn't be doing this if it were, I do not believe in hurting people because it's enough hurt out there to last everyone a life time.

God Bless You

I tried it once for my son's eczema. It didn't do much. I found other things that worked much better. I agree with the people who say you can get great things at local health food stores for cheaper, plus no pressure. Oh, I've also tried the straight tea tree oil and was very unimpressed, in fact, the infection got worse, as well as the antibiotic ointment. It works as well as Neosporin, I suppose, but it's really messy, and the kids scream that it burns. Probably not what you were looking for, but there you go. :)

I have been a customer for almost 7 years now and wouldn't go back to store products. Yes, I am also doing the business, but absolutely love the products first. The cleaners work better than what I used to buy, laundry products are amazing, skin care and cosmetics are great (haven't used too much makeup as I don't normally use much), really nothing I don't like. There are different scents, flavors, types of things to suit everyone. Keep in mind, the products are 100% empty bottle money back guarantee. Yes, the Renew will clear up eczema ( of course chnaging to Melaleuca laundry products and body wash/soap is the key). My youngest had severe eczema and it was gone within about 2 months of switching our products ( noticeable difference within hours). People need to educate themselves on chemicals and toxins in store products and make a simple change for a healthier home. www.AHealthyLifeForAll.com
