My husband has suggested the "Burgundy Family" in our Master Bedroom and Bath. Our bed is a King Size medium tone Oak bed that I LOVE. Wall color, bedding, the whole deal, I'm at a loss, Does anyone have any ideas to make my room a retreat?
Thanks!

I would go to the store and find a rug/towel/pillow/comfortor or something you really like w/ burgundy in it and then work from that. Careful of burgundy towels - they turn everything red as you was them and sometimes as they get wet. A dusty gold is nice on the walls and gives the richness to the room. Have fun!

Burgundy, cream, gold, tan. All those colors work well together. Consider how much burgundy you want in the room. In winter, when there is less natural light, the room might seem kind of dark. Balance is the key.

I agree with the other post about picking out your bedspread first and then work form there. You might find one that has a lot of burgundy in it or maybe a tan bedspread with burgundy accents. So find that first. But I really love all the warm tan colors for the walls. Then you could have burgundy in your bedspread and your curtains. Your bathroom could then follow through with the same colors...tan walls with burgundy towels or even cream towels that have something like I vine pattern with burgundy flowers on it. Or you could just have your bathroom flow with your bedroom but no be so matchy, matchy. Like my bedroom is all destressed big black furniture. I have black selves and a black full length mirror. My bedding is big, puffy and all white (to warm up the black) my throw pillows are tan and all my candles and stuff on the shelves are rusty red and tans. Above my bed I have a big tan twiggy wreath. Then my bathroom is tan walls with a white shower curtain, white curtains, white candles and flowers. But instead of doing just tan and black I did a grey blue for my towels and some of the other decor. So it flows well. So you could do tan and something else in your bathroom so there isn't too much burgundy.
