Making Baby Move....

Ok so last night I hurt myself cause I'm SUPER smart.
Pretty much I think I tore a ligament or muscle in my pelvis. Oh I should mention I'm 38wks pregnant..Yay me. So I'm in pain and all that. Called my Dr. and they pretty much said to rest and see if it gets better by tonight.
I'm pretty sure the baby has been moving as much as normal. But I think I'm being paranoid thinking it's not..
I remember reading somewhere that there was a way to "get the baby moving"
Any ideas?? Was it drink something sugary? I can't remember...
Oh and I can't just GO to the dr. RIGHT now. I have a 2y/o, don't have a car, and do not know ANYONE where I just moved....Going to wait till hubby gets home.

What can I do next?

I am 40 weeks today. Just drank a Coca-Cola and baby is doing some serious dance moves. Try that and see what happens. :)
What are feeling could also be because the baby dropped, stretching muscles and ligaments down there. I have heard this is quite painful. Try and take it easy!

I drank cold water...the coldest I could handle. Like, a little bit painful. It always got my son to move like crazy!! I'm surprised at the amount of people suggesting caffeine. I would ask your DR. about that, before you drink caffeine. MY Dr. (and myself, I was in complete agreement) was adamant against caffeine. Would you let your newborn have a sip of caffeine, because that's basically the same thing as drinking it while pregnant. Just something to think about!!!

Drink something sugary and lay down on your side so you can feel the baby move. You can drink orange juice, other types of juice or even a little sip of soda. Don't worry the baby will be fine, if you don't feel too good then go ahead and go to the hospital. Congratulations on that precious baby.

Try drinking about half a can of regular, sugary, caffinated soda and lie down on your side for a bit. The caffine isn't going to hurt the baby, but will probably get the baby moving. Good luck!

I used to poke and prod my tummy all the time... it drove hubby crazy. lol. But I would feel for a lump, then gently apply pressure and rub a little... If she didn't move I would look for another lump, and rub there. Usually I could find a spot to get her moving. lol.

OJ, and sit still, the more you move the more you rock the baby to sleep.

caffeine is not good in large quantity, so I would not go there.
My one child hated pressure (I am talking a hug would do it), That was how my hubby 1st felt his kick. Another was a music box on my tummy. and my daugher as long as no one was touching me. as soon as a hand even mine touched my belly she stopped, stinker.

Good luck!!!

Orange Juice and sit still and count your kicks. Your doctor can tell you the number to feel in what period of time. Or google it "kick counts". As far as going to the doctor, if you are worried enough to post, GO and don't make excuses. tell your husband to come home and take you or call a cab. If you want to go, GO! Why in heavens name would you risk it? IF baby is not kicking you need ot be put on a monitor at L&D.

Drink a sugary juice and lay on your left side. Your baby will probably start moving within a few mins.

I would drink a dr pepper and lay on one side (left sidem was bad for too long--my son hated it, and that was confirmed by the heart monitor when i was in labor lol) and then move to the other one. it would wake him up and he would furiously kick me :)

Sorry about your fall. I would be FREAKING!!!. However to get the baby to move, taco bell or OJ worked for me...like something spicy or something sweet..usually took about an hour AFTER i ate or drank.
I wish you all the best..sorry about your vag..that sucks

Yep, drink some juice and then lay still and relax. When I was that far along, I fell and thought I hurt something. The baby would NOT move for me...so stressful. But, she is fine and 3.5 months old now. Just relax and try not to focus on it too much. The watched pot never boils. :)

If you are worried that it is something more though, call the hospital.
