We moved from NC almost ayear ago and almost all of the museums and things had free nights or days when things were realy cheap. If anyone knows of things like this I would love to know about them.

What can I do next?

"Kid City" near Lowry Park zoo used to have one day a month that was free, but I dont remember what day. You can find them in the phone book or yellow pages online.

I got a 4-person membership to aquarium for $110 and get free or discounted admission to lots of places in Tampa area.

Many libraries have an art/craft day & similar at least monthly.... check local rec centers too.

Not sure of your boys ages BUT we joined MOSI (science museum) and even though you pay a family membership once a year you get TONS of FREE admissions to other local attractions....zoo, aquarium, other area fun things all over FL. Check them out online or call.

ALSO from NC and just moved to area 2 months ago....

Hi M.,
I am not sure where you are, but I know that the Tampa Tribune lists what's going on in the friday paper, the section is called the friday extra. i think i have also seen in the sunday paper listings for art museums etc, it lists the price hours and if they have any free times. i know that the Dali museum in st pete has a family thing each weekend i don't know if it's sat or sun. you can also search TBO.com i think.

In Tampa I know that Kid City (off of N. Blvd & Sligh, behind the zoo) have "free first friday", where every first Friday of the month is free from 5-8 pm. It's great for the kids and they have different companies come out and give freebies away. Also Lowry Park Zoo does $3 day about every 3-4 months, you should check out their website. I know also in St. Pete the Children's Museum does free or 1/2 price days every once in awhile, worth looking into. Hope this info helps! Good Luck :-)

Lowry Park Zoo has designated days when it's cheaper to get in. Although a family pass is very reasonable and we use ours often. Also the Loretta Ingram pool near International Mall is awsome and totally free. It's a walk in type pool with waterfall and kiddie and big kid slide.
