My daughters (ages 8, 6) share a room, but need more room.
We are looking into loft beds for them.
Does anyone have any experience with these- Good or Bad?

What can I do next?

My son has a loft bed. We really like it. His room is quite small so by putting his bed up we were able to put his dresser underneath. It really opened his room up and gave him more floor space for playing. You can get them with a desk attachment underneath too. The only ones we found that were short enough were at art vann (Dorm-room area). They have a bunch at IKEA, but they were extra tall. He wouldn't have been able to sit up very well. We were really happy with our decision to do a loft, and he thinks it is so cool.

Good luck!!

I have two girls that share a room, we have one loft bed and a crib for our toddler. The loft bed is WONDERFUL, they have a desk and a table & chairs under it. It makes the room so much bigger and I think your kids will love it.

If you buy a loft bed there are limited options but if you build one or have someone build one for you, you can go crazy. We build one for my son and put shelves in a staircase pattern so the dog could still sleep with him, and at the other end we put a fire pole so that he could just slide down in the morning. You can put both girls on it and make it go almost all the way across the top of the room and then have all the floor space for stuff. Or you can buy one with built in desks etc. When my son changed bedrooms we bought him a bed with a futon couch underneath to accomodate kids spending the night.

To build one, if you aren't handy with that sort of thing, go to the nearest university, and look at the bulletin boards in a dorm and hire it done, these people could also use the money.

Loft beds are amazing! And they can take them to college with them! Saves so much room!
