Hi moms! I'm working with a team in a start-up company, developing a very cool game, and want to think outside the box to get the word out when it's ready. Where do you play your games? What do you like about the games, dislike, what would you want in a game if you could design it? Your help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Oh - game site recommendations are also appreciated :)

Hi P.

I play Frontierville which I enjoy but I would love if when you are collecting energy gifts that friends have sent you, that you could collect all with one click instead of selecting gifts, then use, repeat, repeat, repeat. A little annoying issue for me. :-)

I don't play games. For me, time=money and my time is more valuable than playing a game.

I don't understand how so many people have the extra time to play games and manage to do quality work and spend time with their children.

I have FB and Mamapedia I check in a couple times a day but no playing games and I hate it when people send me stuff trying to sign me up.

I play Farmville & Treasure Island on Facebook. They're both very fun & great ways to waste time, but I do wish none of it posted to your wall. I don't mind sending people gifts & receiving them in my games box, but I find it extremely annoying that almost everything goes on your wall & stays there.

I don't play games within FB, but I do play some games that have the ability to connect with FB. I do most of my games on my iPad. My favorite is City Story.

I do not like games that require you to play it EVERY day. I think if you go every 3-4 days that should be enough so that your crops don't wither or your factories don't get dirty :)

I HATE games that require you to add your FB friends in order to advance significantly, but appreciate having the OPTION to do so. I will NEVER pay a dime of REAL money to buy more interesting upgrades to a game. NEVER EVER EVER.

I dont play Facebook games. It annoys me when my dorky friends send me pigs or whatever. I seriously think less of my friends that do that!
But I love 2 games. Tetris and the Sims. I have known many women that love both. I think Tetris appeals to our need to make order out of chaos, get things done quickly, and organize. You also get a sense of satisfaction when it's done. The Sims is simulated life. You create your character, then build her a life. You have to feed her, dress her, entertain her. You have to keep things like mood and education in mind. It appeals to the nurturer I guess. Also, your Sim may get to do things you can't in real life, like take a nap!

I agree with a lot of the others. I have a couple games on FB that I like to keep up with. I HATE that I have to have neighbors for certain things. I too, don't like to bother my friends that aren't playing. I like that things change & I do like the different challenges set up from Frontierville. And, for those of you that don't like it posting to your wall, you can change that. When it is telling you to post, simply do a custom edit. You can post only to the walls of your friends that are playing. It can take a little time, but I don't like to post on everyone's wall.

I like having the option for it to not post on my wall. I play treasure island when I have down time and need to 'veg' my brain. Not daily, like once a week. I have my settings so that it does not post on my wall. I'm upset now that I can't make my island bigger without adding friends. I have a gazillion 'coins' that I will never do anything with because they are pretty useless. I hate viruses that sneak in. I'm pretty computer smart and can usually wipe them clean, but, annoying still. I like that treasure island is constantly changing and adding new things, but I hate that so many steps must be completed for each upgrade. I don't want to pester my friends for things, because it annoys me when others post on their walls. I want to be able to visit someone's island who does play, help them, gift them something individually, and leave. I hardly play like I said, but when I do, I hate I can't do too much because I am limited on energy.

I play FarmTown and Millionaire City in Facebook. I enjoy the different aspects of the games and find Millionaire City to be my current favorite.

Things I dislike about the systems that are in place now for FarmVille, YoVille, FarmTown, etc...it takes too many clicks to get a gift from the giver to your place for it on your game. First you click on accept then click on send a thank you, then wait and click accept more, then you wait while the page reloads, then you click accept again and start the whole accepting thing again. Then you go to your game page and have to click on the gift box, then click on each individual gift in the box one at a time, then click where you want it to be placed, then go click on the box again and do the same thing over again, and again, and again. It can take nearly an hour if you have close to 100 gifts.

On Millionaire city you don't have a gift system, you can ask for a collectible but you will get it yourself if you are patient. You visit neighbors to click on only 5 house a day and can set your rents to be collected every 3 minutes up to every 3 days. It never boots you off if you are inactive for a few minutes either. I can have a tab open with MC open and go to every 3 minutes and collect my 175,000 in sales from the businesses and still go on a different tab to mamapedia, play another FB game such as Farkle or Family Feud. I can visit neighbors or not, it only serves me to do so, some other friend will eventually click on their houses if I don't.

I have tried many games on FB and found many that I don't like. Right now I finally unblocked FarmVille for Christmas so I could help my friends with their goals and send them Christmas gifts for their FV trees. I am already tired of opening package after package after package, up to 100+ one time of the same thing...shovels. I have no buildings going up so I am getting zero construction materials. All my buildings are fully expanded. So I have nothing needed except shovels for my cellar. But I still accept them so I can send back a thank you gift. I feel bad when I get over 100 gifts per day and because it takes too long I ignore most of them They might have really been looking forward to receiving that gift and needed it to give them any number of construction tools.

I also would like to see an Accept all/use all button on things that are not physically place on the farm, such as Christmas gifts, boards, nails, bricks, etc...if they could go to several places let the gamer decide how many of them go here and how many of them go there. Like the box pops up and says, send to barn, send to stable, send to Santa's workshop, click a number and when done click on accept. Like shovels...they could all be accepted at at once then could all be placed in the cellar by the dump truck.

And finally...it's a computer game not groceries...no one that has responsibilities will spend real money on a game that is just for fun. In this economy especially I cannot afford to buy anything not related to food or kids stuff. It can only make people like your game more if you allow them to change their winnings, whether it be dollars or coins, or points, for real money or cash in the bank to buy all the cute things the game creators think if they make it harder to get that the people will buy.

Thanks for asking.

I play mine on facebook and pogo.com. For me I like the games that keep things changing. I get bored very easy with the farmville, cafe world etc. Otherwise on pogo I play the word and card games. I like the games where they don't take up my whole day to play or play catch up if Im not there for a couple of days ( like farmville) I like it when I can go play a game when Im ready or have time and that's not every day. I don't like it that I have to commit to a game daily rather it form around my schedule. I can pick up where I left off when I left off. Although if I get hooked on a game I do play it daily as long as it keeps new things coming and I don't have to spend more than 20 or so mins on it. (Ps I cant stand farmville!! )

Then I got really sick of it taking up all the space on my "wall" so I stopped.

Have played a lot of games on FB, like the Farmville (which I got bored with) and Cafe world (which I also got bored with), now playing Frontierville (which is starting to bore me) and Cityville. I have to agree with the others, it's annoying that you have to post to your wall, or most of all HAVE to add a bunch of friends. I never understood why you have to have a bunch of friends, I choose to play but why make others do it too just so you can continue.
Don't know what your game is like but people get bored if it's just the same thing over and over again..

I play games on Facebook all the time, but I tend to get board fast if things are not added/changed as you progress to keep things interesting.
