Rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball should work. Be careful around his eyes. the alcohol will dry out his skin, so remember to use lotion afterward to help keep it from chaffing.

Thanks for the laugh! I don't have anything to add to what others have said, but know that you're not alone! My kids used to draw all over their arms and legs with marker. Oh well, it will eventually go away :)

If you've got most of it off already, it will be gone over the next few days.
Scrubbing any harder will only irritate his skin.
My son did something similar at that age.
He just watched Peter Pan at day care and he decided he wanted Indian war paint on his face.
He used washable markers and it took a few days to wash off.

I have used Boogie wipes for some pretty strange things that my kids have gotten into....lol. My son got a red marker earlier this week and needless to say my dishwasher and dryer has some pretty nifty artwork LOL. Crazy kids!!

A baby wipe didn't work?
I've heard rubbing alcohol works and hair spray. Maybe get two cotton balls and put rubbing alcohol on one and rub a little and then try the hair spray on another.

i'd be nervous about the alcohol on his face. But that's me.

Jeff used some orange stuff on the kids when they did that - worked like a charm! But - with it so close to his eyes and mouth, I'm not sure you'd want to do that.

I think he looked cute in blue!! LOL - at least he didn't use pink!

Try SeaBreeze - the old astringent or rubbing alcohol (keep away from eyes) Be sure to lotion him up afterwards because it is so drying.
Before I knew it was the face, I was going to recommend nail polish remover - it works really, really well - even on the permanent stuff.

I would just let it wear off. It will most likely be gone by tomorrow if he gets a bath or shower tonight. Too much washing is going to irritate his skin and you don’t want that. My daughter has gotten marker on her hands, legs etc. and it is usually gone within a day or two. Just make sure you keep these photos for when he is older, then you can pull them out and show him his artwork.

I have heard hairspray works well - maybe spray it on a cloth and wipe and then wash his face. I have also heard dishwashing soap, windex, and alcohol.

It will wear off. Just wait until he decides to cut his own hair.

Ohhhh this made my morning.... It just brought back sooo many memories. I was watching my niece and nephew who are twins and my oldest. I had dosed off on the couch for 5 mins (would never do that again) but it was midnight and they wouldn't fall asleep. I went up to check on them the three of them were covered in the same marker you're talking about. It took at least a week for it to disappear. I used everything. But note to you, hairspray only works on fabrics and it really does. If you get a pen mark on your clothes spray it with hairspray before throwing it in the wash. As for now, just keep bathing him daily it'll eventually go away. But it's a tough marker to wash off.

Once water hits it, you are done until it wears off!
Should there be a next time, try rubbing alcohol first - before any water! Not sure how it might work with a "washable" marker, but watched my old pedi take cotton balls and the alcohol and clean it up from one of my kiddos who somehow got a permanent marker on them just before I picked them up from school for the appt!

Just be glad he didn't use the "super-indelible-never-comes-off-until-you're-dead-or-maybe-even--later" markers 'cause if he did he'd be invisible after the bath (joke from the book) :-)

On regular surfaces if you color over it then wipe it off quickly it will generally come off. On skin, I generally use a baby wipe followed by rubbing alcohol but with it that close to his eyes and I am sure he will sit still (note the sarcasm) I am not sure I would use the alcohol. Coloring over it and wiping with a baby wipe might work, but it may also reinforce that it is cool since mom is coloring on me too.

Good luck. Luckily my kids just take Sharpies to walls and doors. Pens on themselves usually on the legs.
