I saw an ad for a "workout" center in Plano for girls ages 8- 16 it said they had classes etc for this age group. I remember it said it was at Preston and 190 but there is a Loews there and I drove all over because I cant find the ad again. Does anyone know anything about this??? Also my 10 yr old daughters weight has increased dramatically over the last 6 mths, and it concerns me a great deal. Has anyone else had this happen with their daughter? She and I are walking every morning and i am trying to keep up with what she eats (shes an emotional eatter like me)and the girls are starting to make fun of her at school......if you know where this place is or have advice please let me know--I know this can ruin her self esteem for a long time and I know from experience
This is my neighborhood and I think I know the place you are talking about -- it is actually in Dallas a few lights down from the Lowe's. I believe it is just south of the Lloyd Circle light on the east side of the street in a 2 story building - when I go out today I will get the specifics. You were very close!

I think this is what you are looking for. There's nutrition class, yoga, pilates for girls. It's called Girl Power classes. Boys can go to Nexgym too.

i joined curves a few months after i had my second little girl - i have seen a few moms and daughter (preteen) working out together and they look like they are having fun - maybe it is something the two of you could do together - i'm looking forward to being able to do stuff like that with my girls
there is a curves at ohio and park - everyone there is very nice
also - when i was younger i went to "the gymnastics place" located off frankford between preston and ohio (tucked back in the neighborhood)

The Little Gym is on Preston, but it's further north than 190. Not sure if that is the one you want or not.
The only gym I know even around there is at Coit and 190
I know this is a late response but you should talk to her pedi becasue they may want to send her to a endocrinologist so they can check her thyroid, pituitary, etc... Good luck!
