I am looking for a place to work out that offers classes that I enjoy and activities for my son as well. I enjoy kickboxing and dance aerobic classes but the places that I found don't offer childcare or children aren't allowed in the gym and the class times are late. I live in the North Dallas, Richardson area. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Check out My Time in Plano. It is for women only (I love that) but it has the new fitness center next door for kids. They have all of the computer fun fitness stuff for them. They have been on the news lately. It is at Parker and the Tollroad. Google My Time Fitness Plano....Good luck!
Hi, Look into LifeTime Fitness....They usually have alot of activities for kids and even there childcare has computers and other things for them while you workout.......T.

We work out at the YMCA in Lake Highlands located off of Greenville, just south of Forest Lane. They offer different classes throughout the day as well as childcare. Hope this helps.
I am a member of L.A fitness they offer free child care when you sign up (they might charge about $10 a month depends on you sign up with) it helps if you tell them you really can't afford to pay extra for child care, they are always willing to work with you. the good thing about L.A fitness is they have a bunch of locations that offer all kinds of classes and you don't have to pay extra to go to all there locations plus you don't have to sign a contract! usually when you go in they will give you a free week trial to see if it is the right place for you! I'm not try'n to soung like a comercial for them it's just I'm a single mom of 2 small children and i am so happy to have found a place to work out.
Not sure if one is in Richardson, but we go to Lifetime Fitness in Plano on Preston and Legacy. It's a very family-oriented gym with tons and tons of classes for children. They offer karate for kids I know b/c I've seen them in the raquetball area. I also know that they offer periodic camps for children with lots of fun activities that get kids moving. They also offer swimming and tennis lessons. Not sure which kids' classes are included in your membership dues, though. Lifetime also has indoor and outdoor pools with waterslides. My kids are still too young to be taking those classes, but they absolutely love the child care area. It has a mini basketball court, an indoor play center, an outdoor playground, and a computer/coloring area. Every mom I've ever talked to has said her children (all ages) love coming to Lifetime.
For us mommies, Lifetime has a huge variety of classes, including kickboxing, dance aerobics, yoga, pilates, water aerobics, step aerobics, etc. They also offer classes (like Team Weight Loss and Bootcamp) and personal training for an extra cost.
We go pretty much every day, and we love it!

I will have to agree Lifetime Fitness will probably meet your needs. If you have easy access to 190 (George Bush Fwy), maybe the North Garland location would be the place of choice, otherwise check out their site for other DFW locations --
