Experience with Sublingual Allergy Treatment for Children?

I don't have any personal experience with allergy doctors, but I have recently had a friend go to Dr. DeHart's office in Denton and rave about her associate Dr. Polin who apparently cures allergies with chiropractic techniques. She paid like $150 for a complete allergy screening for her son and then he had two treatments and her son was cured of peanut allergies and dog dander allergies and a couple of others. Her husband has since had the same treatment and they both are doing great. It has been about 5 months or more for her son since his treatment. Good luck.

The initial treatment takes about a month of going to the dr. every two to three days. Once that is over they teach you how to shoot the serum under their tongue. You then just call them when you are running out of serum and they prepare more for you. My insurance company covered the entire treatment.

My son did this for a year and then we took him off of it. Now I just buy over the counter Zyrtec and give that to him when needed.

I personal don't have any experience...but my best-friends husband uses something like that that he got from Sprout's...and he thinks they are AWESOME. He said they work right away and he feels GREAT because he never feels medicated. Good luck.

I do not have any experience with medical treatments for allergies. However, I believe by using 2 natural methods with my kids, we were able to avoid having allergies to pollen. 1) I used LOCAL, raw, unfiltered honey when my kids were growing up. The raw, unfiltered honey contains trace amounts of local pollen and your body gets used to the stuff and can deal with it. I used to drizzle the honey over their unsweetened Cheerios for breakfast & mix up a few tablespoons into a bowl of organic peanut butter and let them dip their apple wedges into it for an after-school snack. We would go through about a quart of honey every season. 2) When our noses do get stuffy, we use NETI pots. My youngest son loves his NETI pot. You can get a plastic green one at Sprouts. Watch YOU TUBE for many instructive videos on how to use one. The ONLY salt I would put in the water is REAL SALT (brand) from Utah. Regular Sea Salt may contain trace mercury contaminants and regular table salt has silicon-type additives to prevent clumping. Test water temp. with your elbow: not too hot, not too cold.

I personally have not - my son did the shots and we may be going back to that - but I have a friend who is doing the sublingual treatment with her 6 year old. She loves it and says it has worked wonders. It seems to have worked just as well as the shots have.

We have used a sublingual homeopathic treatment for allergies, which worked pretty well and is much less traumatic than getting shots.
