Double Stroller? - Homewood,IL

I am expecting a second baby in June and my children will be 18 months apart. I had intended to get a double stroller but my cousin said that her toddler wasn't interested in riding once he was walking. Should I look into a sit n stand? Is that different from just a double stroller? I have a Chicco car seat/carrier and don't want to spend a bundle...I'm not sure what to look for.

What can I do next?

Congrats on number 2!! I have five kids. I have a double stroller that I used when I was prego with #3 just for the stuff factor then when I had #4 17 months later. I have kids who like to ride and get to run a bit then ride again. I have an umbrella side by side from the right start most reasonable and still sturdy I could find at the time. It is now 8 years old and still looks pretty good. I am not a mall person so it works for me. But if you are the type that likes to have baby in car seat then it is not for you. Good Luck!!

Hi Jenn-

My kids are 21 months apart and my 1st born at the time was not ready to walk anywhere. He always complained that his legs were tired and he constantly wanted to be in the stroller. I know all kids are different though. I now have a Baby Trend sit n stand stroller which I love however at the time when I first had my second he was too small for that but now he is 4 and still rides in it and loves it.

However I do have a Graco duo glider double stroller that I used for a long time in the beginning when they were smaller. I actually have it up for sale on craigs list for $70 which also includes an infant car seat and base that matches the stroller. If you are interested let me know. Here is a link to a newer model of what the stroller looks like now. The stroller is about 4 years old. Your chico car seat/carrier may even fit into it as well.

I think it all depends on your child. My son will be 3 when our new little one is born and he still loves to ride in his stroller. I think it's also great to be able to have someting to strap the older one into, tantrums do happen in public whether we like it or not. Good Luck!

Mine are 15 months apart...Phil & Ted's hands down. We did a lot of research and are so happy with our choice. Our older one, now 24 months, still loves riding in a stroller.

My kids are 22 months apart and are now 2 and 4 and I still use my double stroller. I would suggest getting one. It made things so much easier for me. I would get one that fit the car seat because I used that alot.
