Anyone Use the Lascal Buggy Board?

I have a 2 year old son, and a baby due in just a couple weeks. I just can't see myself with a double stroller. I carried my son in a wrap or Ergo carrier until he was >1yr so we used the stroller very little. For the new baby I got a Maclaren Easy Traveler (a car seat stroller frame like the Snap N Go) and I'm thinking about getting a Buggy Board for my 2 yo to ride on the back. Anyone tried one of these? Do they work (and do they work with Maclaren strollers), does your child really ride on it, is it really akward or can you still comfortably push the stroller with a little one riding?
Thanks for your help!:)

I haven't used the Buggy Board, but I have a Joovy Caboose stroller, where the back seat is a bench or a standing board; my son stands as often as sitting, still (he's 4 1/2), and we have been using this stroller for 2 years. My son was 28 months when we started using it. I know it's not a Buggy Board, but I thought it relevant since the position is the same! Good luck!

I am the proud mother of a 2 1/2 year old and 6 month old and I love my stroller. It is the sit-n-stand LX, and we got it at Target. I couldn't chase after my 2 year old with my daughter in a moby, so I went the stroller route. I didn't want the double wide, and I wasn't excited about the double seater, one in front of the other. The sit-n-stand is easy to open and close, pretty compact and Preston can sit or stand and can easily get on or off. Ella is in her baby carrier or in the seat in front. We researched a lot, and Target's was the most affordable with the best features. Good luck.

I had one and used it quite a bit.
Here were the pros:
--My son had a place to stand and ride when he was tired of walking, so I didn't have to hear the complaining of "I'm tired of walking."
--It was easy to hook up and out of the way when he actually was walking and not riding.
--You could take it off and have your regular stroller again.

Here were the cons:
--It was quite tricky to get the connectors on the right place on the stroller.
--I had to unhook it from the stroller (umbrella style) to fold up the stroller for the trunk. Not terrible, but not convenient either.
--It is a bit awkward to push the stroller with the child riding on the board because that's where your feet need to go. It's not impossible, you just have to adjust how you push the stroller, either streching your arms out farther in front, taking shorter steps, or walking kind of to the side.

All in all, I would get it again if it wasn't too expensive. Maybe look for a discounted one on eBay?
However, about fitting it on a Maclaren... My stroller was a Kolcraft which had round tubes and the connectors worked fine. When we were finished with it I gave it to a friend who had a Maclaren. Her stroller had square tubes, and she had a very hard time getting the connectors tight enough so they wouldn't slip. She ended up not getting it to work. But this could have something to do with the connectors already having been used once. And also, they may have made improvements in the last few years.
Perhaps someone with a newer model and a Maclaren will be able to tell you how theirs is working...

I have a 2 1/2 yo and a 2 month old. Before the baby was born, we tried our friends out. It was okay for about 5 minutes but then my daughter bailed! I didn't want to struggle with using it and keeping her on it so we decided on the Graco duoglide stroller....LOVE IT! She rides in the front and can see everything. She can get in and out of it easily and it is comfy for her. It can be navigated (fully loaded down with 2 kids and all their stuff) with one hand easily. It folds down really easily and has tons of storage. The Easy Traveler will be nice to use when you have someone with you to help with your 2yo or when you just want to tire him out. Hope this helps! Congrats on the new arrival!

I reccommend the Phil and Ted's stroller. You can use it with the infant seat and it is the size of a single stroller. I also have a 2 year old boy and a baby girl (2 1/2 and 6 months).

I loved the buggy board and so did my son. My kids are 2 1/2 years apart and it was great. There was no way he was going to ride in a stroller and that would be a hassle. I had a rule that he had to ride on it. He thought he was helping. I do not agree with the cons below. I didn't find those problems. Good Luck!

My boys were 3 1/2 years apart and we purchased a buggy board. We loved it and used it again when my third child was born. I liked the fact that my child was right between my arms when we were in busy places (the mall, the state fair, etc.) and when he got tired of standing, he would sit on it and put his legs in the storage area under the stroller. I did not find that it was hard to get used to, and it was so small that I just kept it in the back of my car. I was not interested in a double stroller, I found those harder to "drive". I agree that it was tricky to fit the connectors just right onto the stroller, but well worth it. My sister is now the proud owner of it, and it has very little wear and tear after 6 years of use! Also, EVERYWHERE we used the buggy board, we heard at least one comment about how neat it was!

Hi R.,
we used a buggy board, it was great as my son loved to walk next to the stroller and then when he got tired or we needed to hurry he just stepped on and off we went. I found that i needed a double stroller for longer walks as my son was not quite 2. we had a Maclaren umbrella stroller and it did fit OK.
I think it depends on how long your walks are.
