Is it possible to somehow enter an email address or facebook name to find an individual? Or, if your account here is linked to FB can someone figure out who you are through that?
I have a few friends who are currently prego with their first babies. I would like to recommend this site to them, but not if they can look up my account. I have asked a lot of very personal questions on this site, along with a few rants/questions about one of the girls. So, while I'm sure they would use this site, I don't really want to lose my anonymity. That is why I love this site so much.
Sooo... Is it possible? I know they might be able to deduce who I am by the questions I ask... So if I DO tell them about it I will just have to be more careful about that... But just by knowing my facebook info or email, can they find me?
(I know I sound a little paranoid, but if I tell them about the site they will definitely try to search me out. Lol,)
Anyone can click on your name and read all of the questions you have asked. If you want to be anonymous, you could delete your account and re-register with an email account (open something new at hotmail or yahoo) and nickname that doesn't identify you. Don't link to FB if you don't want that identification.
If you are talking about others on this site, which people do, I don't suggest you invite your friends or a friend of a friend who may be able to figure things out.
Even a screen name will lead back to your name if you click enough buttons once logged in.
I am not sure about Facebook, but with my work, I search people everyday. I don't find my results to my search requiring me to log in to read more, with the exception of FB. Never have I come across the Mamapedia link in my search. So I will say I don't think so.

No one can search you out via an e-mail address or name on Mamapedia.
People can deduct who you are by subjects...if they are responding to a post and look at your profile - they may be able to "see" you - hence the reason why many women on here don't post a profile picture -
If you want to recommend the site but not be "found out" - change your name and location....don't put a profile picture up or change it to flowers or a dog or a cat.
I've told many people "if you won't say it to their face - don't say it"...
