Baby Shower Ideas?!? - Strongsville,OH

For my friends baby shower a couple years ago i did a couple things for centerpieces for her shower. I went the the dollar tree and they had baby candles so i bought a couple of them and put them on glass dishes that i got really cheap at the craft store then i surrounded them with glass beads. They lookes super cute and were really cheap. Aoso I bought some bottles at the dollar store and filled them with a gel that i got at the craft store that you add water to and let it sit over night and it absorbs the water and looks like ice. I filled the bottles with that (its not toxic so you can use the bottles once she has the baby) and tied ballones to them instead of paying for weights. I dont know if you are looking for games to play or not but if you are I have a bunch of ideas for that too. Good luck!

I just had a baby shower for my daughter a few months back the Party Center out here was really helpful. Also there is a lot of information online. I found some really cool ideas like you buy life savers, vanilla frosting, and jelly beans. you take two life savers and use the vanilla frosting to hold them together. One vertical and one horizonal. Then you take a jelly bean and put it under the hoizonal one. Let them dry. It looks just like a binky (pasy). I also took netting and placed mints in it and tied up with ribben and had a little plastic binky or rattle tied in it. Those went over well too. If you need anything else like games let me know and I have a few.

I had my baby shower in the spring at Grand Pacific Junction in Olmsted Falls. For center pieces, my mom went to Old Time Pottery in Middleburg Hts and bought little mini tea pots. She planted blue (I had a boy) pansies in them and attached the lid with a colorful blue ribbon. Everyone commented on how cute they were and we were also able to use them as prizes for guests to take home. Depending on your style/the style of your shower, you could do a version with cute pink flowers...daisys would be really cute too! Good luck!!!

I would try your local dollar stores. They do have lots of cute things and if you need to buy a larger quantity, they can order for you. They have balloons, centerpieces, invitations, candles, etc. Good luck! Marjie

Congratulations on your upcoming new addition!! You could easily do an inexpensive potted plant that has tissue and ribbon around the pot. You could stick skewers in the pot with "it's a girl" (if the shower is for you) or footprints, etc. With 50 people and if you are having a sit down affair with tables & chairs, then you would only need about 7 for seating of 8 people per table. These could also be given away as prizes if you are going to have games at the shower. As far as other decorations, you can have a diaper cake (they are expensive to order on the net, but easy to make - if interested, I can send you directions on how to). Also, if you know the sex of the Baby, you could have a clothesline with items of clothing on it. That could also be part of a game for the guests.
