I know how you feel . . . my youngest, now 3, is quite a few years younger than both her big sisters so we had to start from scratch, too! Consider buying second-hand from www.craigslist.org. It just isn't worth buying anything brand new, unless you are thinking of having another after this one.

MY parents bought our first child's nursery furniture at Oh Baby inside Stacey Furniture in Allen. It is an upscale baby store that my mother fell in love with. They paid 4K for a crib, dresser, bassinet, and bookcase, and it is very nice and has held up. That being said for the 2nd child, we decided to go with JC Penney's per the referral of some girlfriends. I wish I would have known about them the first time around because the crib and changing table were less than $400, came with a mattress and are just as nice as the furniture that my parents spent a fortune on. The furniture also shipped to the store for free, and was here in less than 2 weeks! I would definitely recommend JC Penney's to anyone!!!

I am currently PG after thinking we were done having kids... so I didn't have anything either!

I found a convertible crib on sale at Buy Buy Baby... it was $199 and then I was able to use one of their 20% off coupons that made it $160. It is SO nice, and the quality is great.. when I saw it in the ad I was worried it would be cheap due to the price, but it is great. I went to Kid to Kid in Mckinney and their used cribs were more expensive and I didn't like them at all. I did end up buying a really nice Eddie Bauer bassinet, and a like new swing there for really reasonable. You may also want to check out Craigs List.

This weekend is Craig Ranch's big garage sale.. and they have a TON of baby furniture, etc.

Good luck!

I have a white bassinet that you can buy. It's in excellent shape and I suppose you can decorate it because it's white. You can have it for $20. I'm in McKinney. Message me if you're interested. I also have some other things to sell- bottle warmer, diaper bags, infant carseat carrier, Jumperoo, bathtub, travel bassinet, bouncy seats, etc.

I found the best price for baby furniture to be Walmart check out their online site, ship to store is usually free. Also if you are not picky and since it is a temporary item check out Craiglist so many people put there baby stuff on there and it will be in almost new condition since bassinets only last about 3 months. Congratulations.

I agree. I bought my crib and JCpenney and the quality was excellent. The only thing is they don't have the furniture in the store for you to see the true size of it etc. They do have some samples of the wood so you can see the different options. I also thought Burligton had good stuff and prices. Lone star baby & kids in frisco has very nice stuff but it's kinda pricey. Congrats to you! Very exciting!
