Any Opinions Re: Arapaho United Methodist Day School?

I'm thinking of enrolling my 3 year old in preschool at Araphaho United Methodist Day School, however, I know absolutely nothing about it. I recently moved to Far North Dallas and AUM is on my way to work so it would be convenient. However, convenience doesn't outweigh what is best for my daugther. Please share any information you may have. Thanks!

I've heard good things about it, but I put my daughter on the waiting list before she was born, was told they should have a spot within the year - by the next summer at the latest, and she's almost 2.5 and I have NEVER been called. I called a few times the first year to see where she is on the list, and always heard she's next on the list. (Which is odd because that's what my neighbor heard as well.) Well, now I don't particularly care because I LOVE the Montessori school she goes to, but it still bugs me that no one from that school has ever called to tell me a spot is available in the toddler room, or that they've removed me from the list for whatever reason.

My 3-year old daughter goes there 2 days a week and we love it! The staff is great and everyone is very friendly. This is her second year there - last year she was in the Mothers' Day Out class. Before we decided, we went and toured the school. For info or a tour, the lady you want to talk to is Sharon Groves - she is the school director. ###-###-####.

You are welcome to email me, if you want specifics about schedules, etc.

Hi,
I can't give an opinion on that school, but right in the same area is Little Saints, which my 4 year old has gone to for 2 years and we absolutely LOVE!!!!!! If you are checking out preschools in the area and aren't partial to Methodist, Little Saints is worth checking out. There is a lot of parent involvement, it is very clean, the teachers have been there for years and are wonderful, and the kids learn so much! I can't say enough good things. It is on Arapaho just between Hillcrest and Preston. Good luck!

I can't speak about that school in particular but there is a website where you can look at everything available in your area for free. www.GetChildCareNOW.com. Hope that helps.

The teachers are sweet and experienced. THey have a great retention rate of teachers. The price is VERy reasonable. They have a fair amount of outside/inside play time. My kids were always bringing home crafts. Parents have the option to be quite involved. They don't claim to be a "christian" preschool, in other words, there is little curriculum that teaches about God or the bible, it is more inclusive/secular. The afternoon time is outside play, lunch and video which for me wasn't worth paying for but works if you need it. overall, pleased with our experience there (I had twins there for 2 years)
