Hi moms,

was wanting to see if anyone has found some good natural lotions and soaps for infants. Expecting baby number two and really hoping to do things a lot differently this time around. Around a year old my daughter's hair started feeling coarse and flat so we switched her to an older child's hair shampoo and it seems to work but was wanting to avoid so many chemicals with our second. Thanks for the help.

What can I do next?

I LOVE the Burt's Bees products! I use their baby wash on my youngest (16 months) and have since she was born. I also use their shea butter hand repair cream on her for lotion. (She has eczema and the regular baby lotion wasn't enough moisture for her.) My older daughter (3 yrs) still uses the baby wash as a body wash, and the baby lotion. She and I both use their adult shampoos and conditioners. Even though the shampoo doesn't say "tear-free" on the bottle it does say "Ph balanced", and the few times she has gotten it in her eyes has not complained of anything except that she can't see through the suds. I used to have to go to a health food store to get these products but now Wal-Mart and Target both carry them, as well as the Dillon's Marketplace. In Wal-Mart they aren't with the rest of the baby products or shampoo, Burt's Bees has their own section in the makeup/skin care aisle where all of their products are together. Target usually has the baby products with the rest of the baby stuff, but also has a section in the makeup/skin care aisle where all of the adult stuff is. I hope this helps!

I second California Baby and Burt's Bees. And they are easy to find. Don't do Malaleuca or Arbonne. They say they are all natural and they do have some really good ingredients in them, but there are still other ingredients in them that we don't want on our skin.

Hi E.!
Congratulations on your growing family!

With my babies, I used Burt's Bees and Earth Mama Angel Baby products. I really like the Burt's Bees shampoo bar! And their Evening Primrose Creme(actually in their adult line) makes a terrific diaper rash cream!
Another good product is Dr. Bronners castile soap. Very gentle, absolutely pure!
I also use extra virgin coconut oil for lotion on myself and my kids.
California Baby products are wonderful too, and now you can get them at Target!

Beware of Melaleuca products. Often if people say to contact them for more info, it's Melaleuca. Their products are NOT all natural and it's expensive for what you are getting. I was a customer for 5 years thinking I was getting superior products and found out the truth the HARD way.

You can check out many mainstream products on www.cosmeticsdatabase.com to find out how toxic a certain product is. You will be surprised at how many kids products are dangerous!

You can get Burt's Bees and many other natural products online at www.vitacost.com

Good Morning E., Our daugther in law uses oatmeal soap on her boys, started about a month ago. Zane 2 last Oct has very dry skin. It has helped some but not enough as yet.

If you have a Whole foods store near you, try there.
They can help you with your needs.
I did a google search for Natural Baby products.
There is a bus load of sites out there.

http://www.naturesbabyproducts.com/

http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/product/angel-baby/

I can imagine they can be a little pricey
So check Whole foods first

God Bless you hope you find what you need

Hi,

I used aloe vera gel on my babies. Get the clear kind. It worked well on hair and skin.

Hi E.,
I, too, am trying to find better products with less chemicals to use on my kiddos. We've been using Burt's Bees stuff, but I saw on website www.cosmeticsdatabase.com that a lot of the California Baby washes have fewer chemicals, so I just bought some to try. One thing I did was use that website to find some of the more natural products and then search online and/or see what Whole Foods had in stock. Good luck!

I would HIGHLY recommend Arbonne! Arbonne is a health and wellness company with products that are are PURE, SAFE and BENEFICIAL. They are good for your skin and body, contain no chemicals, are plant based, vegan friendly, and have never been tested on animals. They have a fantastic baby line - ABC Arbonne Baby Care - that is wonderful for little ones and for those with sensitive skin. The first time I used it on my son, his skin was so soft, smelled so good, and I knew there was NOTHING HARMFUL touching him or being absorbed into his skin!

E., if you contact me I will do anything I can to get you the best deal possible, including sharing my own discount with you. There are mamas that will try to get you to join their company, advertising their home business, and hit you with a "BUY FROM ME" message. I will not. I am simply stating I know all Arbonne ingredients are well researched before being added to their formulas, and the formulas are unsurpassed in their quality. If you don't buy from me, I encourage you to at least try it. ALL PRODUCTS they sell come with a 45 day 100% UNCONDITIONAL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! I am confident you will not need it. I would love to share the products I use with you. It is a wholesale company so you need a membership to shop with them, but they do not use harsh or harmful chemicals in their products...everything from shampoo and toothpaste to bathroom cleaner and laundry detergent. Email me at ____@____.com with your number and I can give you a call and tell you about it.

...Just to follow up, I am a customer of Melaleuca. I love the products and use them in my home with my 2 year old daughter. I like Burts Bees and Seventh Generation too, but the Melaleuca products save me money over those brands. I especially like the cleaning products and vitamins...I can see, smell and feel a difference. I am sorry to anyone who has had a bad experience with Melaleuca. My experience has been wonderful.

I am associated with Melaleuca. It's all natural, chemical free products including cleaning products. I can clean the floors and the bath tub and not worry about the kids coming into contact with the chemicals in the products because there are none. And the kids toothpaste, vitamins, shampoo and body wash are amazing. Contact me for more info or check out www.melaleuca.com! Thanks!

Melaleuca is products that I would recommend! My grandson has allergies and these are products that we can use for him! Also, great for burns, rashes, etc...my husband burnt himself the other night, put some of the oil on it and within a few minutes you couldn't see where the burn was and he said it wasn't sore either! Any questions you can email me at ____@____.com

Congrats on the baby!!
