Hi everyone, has anyone had a problem breaking out a lot while pregnant? This is my third pregnancy and I am breaking out more than usual. I am only 10 weeks along. And if you have can you tell me what you did to relieve it? Thank you. Any advice will help.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

First of all I would like to thank all of you for your feedback and advice. I did end up buying something called Acne Free from Walmart, believe it or not. I bought it yesterday and I am already seeing results. It is right up there with ProActiv, but for less. I only experienced a small rash, which is weird since there is only 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in it. But my face is already clearing up.

go to acne.org I think that's the site, daniel kern products - the ONLY thing I have found for my son's acne - do not use any dangerous prescription/drugs, this is a 4 step thing - we tried everything out there....nothing has worked but this.

Sorry, no magic advice here, just wanted to let you know my face (chin mainly) got some volcanoes on it with both my pregnancies. BUT somewhere after the first trimester, or maybe half way through, it cleared up and I had the best looking skin I've ever had for the second half. I have had luck since that time using the sulfer based mask that comes with pro-active and leaving it on problem spots overnight. If you don't use pro-active try looking for any mask with sulfer added. Hang in there and hopefully it will get better soon!

I had a breakout on my chin during my first pregnancy that I figured was just hormones and regular breakout. I finally went to a derm and he told me it was actually a form of excema. He had me use Nizoral dandruff shampoo (prescription at that time) to wash my face and put on some hydrocortizone cream. It cleared up pretty well and was gone in a week or so. MY last pregnancy started to breakout and I put hydrocortizone right way and it stopped.

Acne is hormonal so having increased breakouts during pregnancy isn't unusual. Arbonne is a botanically-based Swiss Health and Wellness company that has a great acne line. It uses salicylic acid as its active incredient, not benzoyl peroxide which will change the pH of your skin. If you would like more information you can go to my webpage at www.nursekerry.myarbonne.com.

Oh, yes. Some of us are blessed with adult acne which is exponentially worse during pregnancy.

You can use Benzyl peroxide solutions, but you need to stay away from salicylic acid solutions if you get something over the counter.

Before you start anything, I'd suggest asking either your OB/GYN (as this is a common problem) or contacting a dermatologist to see what they recommend. I was able to manage mine with Benzyl peroxide, and the further I got into the pregnancies, the clearer my skin became.

Skin changes are very common in pregnancy. Zap it works like proactive without the harsh chemicals so it is safe for use during pregnancy. Let me know if you’re interested and I can help you get this at a discounted price.

Oh yes,.. I'm on my second and just entered the 2nd trimester and am noticing its been starting to clear up,.. THANK GOD! I hope it gets better for all of us who are pregnant having this problem! I remember this well with my 1st pregnancy. I also get acne type small bumps on my chest, back and little bit on the belly during this time which have also begun to clear up. I am so glad this is just a stage, you gotta love the 1st trimester, it brings such joyful changes to our bodies... LOL
