1 Year Old Not Wanting to Eat

My 1 year old will get the gerber veggie meat rav. and breakfast is not a problem, she'll eat oatmeal, and fruit. Dinner and lunch I'm having issues with, she only wants stuff she can pick up herself anything I have to put in her mouth she doesn't want, (even if she likes it). I guess I have a Miss independant on my hands!

Does anyone have any ideas on some good finger foods?

What can I do next?

We're struggling with this as well. Not sure if your daughter has any food allergies/sensitivities...if not, cheese toast (cut into small bites); cinnamin toast; diced carrots, peas, beans; ground beef; shredded chicken; diced cheese or even shredded cheese.....really anything you fix for your husband is ok to feed her. Just make sure it's cut into small pieces for her to pick up. My daughter went crazy the other night when I fixed chicken tetrazini w/ peas and blue berry muffins. I was so excited that she actually ate something. Because lately she's just been nursing more often to make up for not eating baby foods/solid foods. Meal times can be stressful if they're refusing almost all foods except cheerios and Gerber Puffs!

Good luck!

Gerber Graduate meals, Gerber Grad. pasta pickups, Gerb Grad Diced Fruits and Veggies, Diced tomatoes, Dieced steamed veggies or fruits (soft fruits), Deli meats sliced thin torn up for her, bread torn into small bite sizes, Boil Rotini, shell, egg noodles, maccaoni and flavor with sauce. Fish sticks and meat loaf are easy to eat as well.

i hope i gave you a few ideas.

I'm working with the same issue. Here are some things that my daughter likes, but some are quite messy: cubed avacado, low sodium canned veggies like asparagus, cut green beans, diced carrots, etc., a boiled egg cut in quarters, canned mandarian orange segments, chunks of banana, apple, or cantelope, fettucini without sauce, Pepperidge Farm goldfish, or crackers. This isn't her whole diet, but they are the things that she likes to eat with her fingers. My daughter is only 10 months, but I hope this helps.

My daughter (11 months) will eat anything we do. She loves the canned veggies and you can get low sodium ones if you want, or you can steam your own. We give her bites of fresh fruit - all kinds, with the skin removed (she doesn't have enough teeth to get through that). We break off pieces of cooked chicken, and as long as they are small enough (I find that cutting across the grain in short slices is the best) but not too small, she will eat it. (If I give her too small a piece she won't touch it.) I've also done ground beef/turkey, chunks of cheese. My girl loves rice - it's a bit of a sticky mess when she's done, but she eats it. She pretty much eats what we do (last night she even had some homemade pizza - little pieces of it cut up - with whole wheat crust, the lowfat pepperoni and cheese. It's definately not something I'd give her everyday, but she loved it. She usually won't eat something different from us. If it's not something I want to give her, I'll save parts of it out that she can eat and give that to her.

I also had a "Miss Independant" and she ate with her hands whatever I put on her tray. She learned to eat what we ate, including mashed potatoes. I always gave her the spoon and coaxed her to take a scoop or two each time we ate, but usually she finished her meal with her own "tools." Anyway, she's grown and eats with tableware today, so no damage was done to her psyche!
