Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat, Need Help!

I am looking to buy a second car seat for my 14 month old. It will be used as a spare and in his Nana's car, so not his main car seat. Has anyone used the Cosco Scenera Convertible Car Seat? Been in a wreck with your child in it? Did it protect them? I am getting mixed reviews online. Of course it seems to be "bottom of the line" and I understand there isn't a whole lot of cushion/padding; I am mostly wondering about experiences you've had and how it protected your little one in an accident (if you were in one). My daughter is 8 and 1/2 months old. She weighs 19.5 lbs but here's the problem, she's 29 1/2 inches long. We have a really great car seat that goes up to 35 lbs rear facing. She has full head control, should I just switch her around now or...

Moving to the Next Car Seat

I am looking for a little advise/suggestion about moving my 3 yo to the next car seat. We currently have an Evenflow Convertable car seat, and have been very happy with it. My son who is 10 months needs to get out of the infant car seat before he looses any toes. We have been looking at Booster Car seats, both that still use a 5 point harness and others that have the high back but use only the car seat belt. My daughter is 38 lbs and I believe you can use the car seat belt at 40 lbs. Any suggestions out there on car seats people would...
