Relocating to Mcallen

We moved here last July from Fort Worth and I would suggest moving to the Sharyland Plantation area of Mission or to the Tanglewood development near Bentsen Palm Park in Mission. We moved here ten years ago and we love McAllen. The other ladies are right. Sharyland is the place to live right now, great housing, great schools and close to everything...but can be pricey. Other areas to look into are the Gonzalez Elementary and/or Ben Milam Elementary areas. Great private schools in those areas also.

My family and I moved to Mcallen last July so I completely understand what you are about to go through. We did alot of research and found that the best place to live is a place called Sharyland Plantation (www.sharyland.com). The school district is rated in the top districts in the Valley. My daughter just completed kinder and we LOVED the school.She went to Shimotsu Elemetary. They are also building a brand new middle school, I think it opens this coming school year. Anyway, we are renting and we LOVE our landlord. I spoke to her this morning and she said that she has a few houses that you may be interested in.
