Dentist for Year Old Baby?

I have a year old baby girl. I currently have an appointment (which I'm not certain I'm going to keep) to have her teeth cleaned. It's at a pediatric dentist - here in Raleigh. And I called them today to see what to expect during her first visit - which I thought was going to be just an examination and maybe an explination and confirmation that I'm cleaning her teeth properly - but, no - they said that a hyginist was actually going to clean her teeth. She only has six! They said I would be back there, basically holding her down while...

14 Month Old Purposefully Slams Head into Floor

My 14 month son gets very upset if we tell him "no" or move him if he is doing something inappropriate. Sometimes, he will become upset if we simply put him down (instead of holding him while cooking, cleaning, or doing anything that requires 2 hands). When he gets upset, he will be on all 4's and slam his head into the ground. If we dont stop him, he usually will do it several times and be over it after a bit more fussing. We have tried distracting him, moving him, letting him cry it out, picking him up, etc, but are not sure what is...

I'm okay with him waking up at night 1 or 2 times, but 4 or 5 times a night it seems. He eats well at these feedings. He may also be going through a growth spurt. I do not want to start him on any solids including...

JFF... Whats Some Funny Stuff Your Kids Has Said This Week?

What was the funniest thing your kids said this week, so far? My 2 year old for the first time (that I heard) in the mall today told my 3 year old " so whateveeer" like a teenager, I had to do a double take... My 3 year old came into my room when she was supposed to be asleep and told me that she needed to buy some letters from the post lady so she could send to the tooth fairy, so she can come get her teeth... My first response was "baby, we don't buy letters" my second response was "who do you know uses the phrase post-lady?" ...
