I was given a cd from our public health nurse, by the artist Kathy Reid-Naiman, and our 10 month old daughter loves it! I would like to find more songs like it has, there are a couple on youtube, ( i like the flowers... and an elmo tune that she likes) but I'd like mp3s for the ipod. Also any suggestions of nice adult singers of childrens songs, and or websites that have some free or cheap downloads.

I downloaded a bunch of children songs from iTunes. I would also try googling the artist that you like. They may allow you to download the songs directly from their websites.

Laurie Berkner is the best - and you'll like her too. Classic children's songs as well as originals. She has a voice similar to Liz Phair with a folky twist. Good stuff.

Just go to I Tunes.

I use frostwire. It's a free site. Just type in childrens songs or nursery rhymes. My daughter is 3 and her ipod is full of songs just for her. She loves it that she has her own so that she can listen to her songs whenever she wants.

I googled her and found that CDBaby (great site for independent artists) has her CD and downloads.

I love Laurie Berkner and Hullabaloo - you can get both on iTunes. Sometimes Hullabaloo has free downloads through their website.

You can take a look at my blog post: http://www.yourlifevents.com/2010/04/14/kidsfamily-10-kid...

to see if there are any ideas that might appeal to you. The post was about kid-friendly songs that adults could stand to listen to as well. At one point, my husband and I had been subjected to the "itsy bitsy spider" and others on a loop for hours and we totally thought we were going to lose it. It was at that moment that we decided to find some kid-friendly songs that we could actually listen to throughout the day without losing our minds;)

good luck,
S.

Hi J.,

Dan Zanes is great for kids and adults! His music videos used to be shown on the Disney Channel. He does have a website, and I'm sure you can download from iTunes. We've been listening to him since my son was a baby, and he'll be six at the end of this month. Still love him! Fun, happy music!
