I was planning on creating a DVD of my sons first year out of digital pictures and add some music. However when I try to think of which songs to use the only songs I can think of are written for daughters. If you have any suggestions or ideas your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have two little boys (3 and 1) and I have made a DVD of their pictures each year. I also had a hard time with finding songs but I will give you some that I have come up with. Some of these may not work at this age but you can keep them in mind for the future. This might be WAY more than you are asking for so I appoligize in advance if so.

Here is my list:
Watching You
Lotta Man In That Little Boy
Beautiful Boy
Return To Pooh Corner
If You're Happy and You Know It
Anyway
Walk Like A Man
Alphabet Song
You Just Get Better All The Time
Thank God For Kids
Always Be My Baby
When I Saw You
The Rainbow Connection
You'll Be In My Heart
Life Is Just A Matter Of Time
Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel)
You Touch My Heart
My Little Man
That's My Job
I'll Be There
Don't Worry 'Bout A Thing

John Lennon wrote a beautiful lullaby for his son called Beautiful Boy. And, many years ago, when the show "Murphy Brown" starring Candice Bergen was popular, she sang You Make Me Feel (Like a Natural Woman) to her newborn baby boy.

If you can deal with her, Celine Dion's A New Day is about her feelings about her son. You might also check out Disney's Tarzan soundtrack. It has a nice lullaby from mama to baby, and a couple good songs about being and becoming a man. It's a very nice idea. Good luck with it.

There are a couple of newer country songs... The only one that I can find right now is "Let them be Little" by Billy Dean. There is another one that was recently done about a son, but I haven't found it yet. I will respond again if I can find it. What a GREAT idea!! I have three kids and I have always felt bad about not having proper picture albums of them. I think this will be my next project as well. What program do you use?? Thanks and good luck. God Bless.

When I created the first DVD for my baby boy, I used the song "Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)" by Billy Joel. I used all the pics of him sleeping and/or falling asleep.

Goodnight, my angel
Time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Wherever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away

Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep
The water's dark and deep
Inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me

Lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu
lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu

Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to dream
And dream how wonderful your life will be
Someday your child may cry
And if you sing this lullabye
Then in your heart
There will always be a part of me

Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabyes go on and on...
They never die
That's how you
And I
Will be

At my bro's wedding, when he danced the mother-son dance, they played, "I Hope You Dance", not sure who by, country singer though. "Thank God for Kids" is awesome too. Sounds like a fun project. What an awesome keepsake. Get's me to thinking about all of the pics stored in boxes in my closet.....ouch!

my favorite is by bare naked ladies. it's a tender luulaby, but i can't think of the name of it. the chorus goes "when you dream, what do you dream about?" definitely look it up- it almost makes me cry everytime i hear it, since it talks about a "sleeping new son", and it takes me back to whenm each of my 3 boys were born.
