Hi, I currently live in Edmond, OK and I am pregnant with my third child. I had my second child here in Edmond at the Renaissance and now it is not there any more. I am currently looking for a good OBGYN to go to in OKC. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I personally think Dr. Lisa Wasemiller-Smith is the best OBGYN anyone could have! I also am a married mom of 2 and pregnant with my 3rd. She delivered both of my girls, and will deliver this baby as well! She is located at Lakeside Women's Hospital in OKC. Just in case ya want it, her number is ###-###-####.

Hi E.,

I just had my second child in September and I went to Dr. Gregory Cox at the physicians center in Mercy Hospital. He and his office staff were great! He's not one of those "get in and out" doctors. He always listened to my questions, even the silly ones, and explained everything very thoroughly. I ended up having an emergency c-section because he became breech. He stayed right by me and helped keep me calm (I was terrified). He will deliver at either Mercy or Deaconess. I went to Mercy and the nurses were wonderful! All the staff I came in contact with were really friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my experience. I highly recommend him!

since you asked for an obgyn you might not be interested in this, but i delivered with one of the midwives at ou medical center. i started out with one of the drs at mercy (none of the ones previously mentioned), but we had a disagreement over my birth plan- i went totally natural and she didn't like it. now the midwives are not against medication, so don't let the natural thing throw you if that's not what you want. the one i see is anne stewart, and she started the midwife progam at ou medical center. she is amazing at answering all questions i have (sometimes before i ask them!), very nurturing, gives me all of the options... i highly recommend her. also, ou medical center was a fabulous place to deliver. i was there for 14 hours and went through a couple shift changes but every nurse i had was awesome; no complaints. ou medical center seemed far to me at first (i live in edmond also) but i timed the drive and for me it was the same amount of time to get there as mercy (this probably depends on where you live).

i have nothing against mercy, but just so you know the cesarean rate there is 1 in 3, which is incredibly high.

i hope you have a great experience with whomever you choose! good luck!

Hi, my name is C., and I am a nurse at Mercy Hospital. I work for a urologist in the Mercy Plaze, and below us on the 5th floor there is the Center for Womens Health. The office consists of 5 ob/gyn's and they are all wonderful. I personally see Dr. Devin McAdams, but Dr. Melendez is wonderful also. The address to the facility is:

I am not sure what kind of insurance you have, but they accept anything from medicaid to bcbs. If you need anymore info let me know, and congratulations!!!

Hello E.

Congrats on your pregnancy! I hope every thing goes well. I use Dr. John Fuller. He is out of Mercy and I just love him. I have never had a baby w/ him, but my 17 year old son (step) was deliveried by him. The best thing his mom ever did was recomend Dr. Fuller to me. After I had my youngest son by a Dr. out of Baptist and the Dr. and hospital where horrible (in all fairness to the hospital they where very busey)I asked everyone I knew about obgyns and both my husband and his x-wife highly recomended him. I have since decided not to have more children, but I still seem him once a year. I have had a few friends that also use him to deliver their babies and they have been very happy. He is very kind, funny, gentle, and is one of the few dr's that will spend time w/ you to talk about concerns. I have also found all of his staff to be very nice as well.

I wish you all the best and hope you find a great obgyn. Also, I have spent a lot of time at mercy and I really liked all of the people that work there. I did not have dealings in the ldr, but what I did find was the staff is very kind, supportive and patient. Just from my experiance w/ baptist I would not recomend it, I think it is just to big and to crowded and the staff just seemed so over worked, busey and put out whenever I needed them. I have heard Deconess is so much better then it use to be as far as their ldr. I just love Mercy and have always been happy w/ their services.

Godd luck w/ every thing! Take care ans stay well.

Try Devon McAdams. He is @ Mercy. I had just moved here from Tulsa last year when I foun out I was pg. I just picked him potluck and was very pleased. I was considered high risk because of my age, not to mention I had given birth seven months before via c-section. I thought I had had the best in Tulsa, but I was wrong. I developed pre-e at 32 wks and delivered at 36, dd went to icu for 6 days. McAdams was awesome, Mecy was top notch. I really can't say enough about the care at Mercy, from nurses to housekeeping, they really care. Sorry for the book! My dd just turned 4 months, so it is all still fresh on my mind.

Dr. Resig. She is great. I also what to address the 1 in 3 c-sections. I am sure that is ture but Mercy also is the only Level 3 neonatel ICU. I would hope no one would ever need it. Though with my family history of miscarriages, stillborns, and early births I wanted to headge my bets just in case. Thankfully I didn't need it thougt it was nice to know it was there if I did. Since they deal with a lot of "high risk" pregancy that the other hospitals don't or won't they are going to have a high c-section rate. Hope that helps put you mind at ease for Mercy. The staff is great and supportive even if you want not drugs they don't prusere you to taking them. :)

On top of that you can understand her, very good English (I always worry about that with foriegn names) Heck any of them over there are awsome...Over at Baptist Dr. Kallenburger, he is another good one. Karen Reisgn is also very nice Dr. Hager I know of her anyway from when I used to work at ped's office.. I only know of these. If you want a good peds doctor Dr. Garlanda Parker is good too.
