It really depends on your medical insurance and where you live. When I had Blue Cross I used Dr. John Hubner ###-###-#### | 2000 S Wheeling Ave # 1100 Tulsa, OK. and My OBGYN was Joseph Cunningham across the street. For Pediatric care we went to Dr. Patrick Daley ###-###-#### | 1589 E 19th St Tulsa, OK

When I was on American Medical Security we used Dr. Robert Paulsen across the street and my cousin and her boy still use him. I was still with Dr. Cunningham for my OBGYN, and used Pediatric Adolescent Care (in the same building as Dr. Hubner) especially Dr. S. Gordon (female).

When I had to downgrade to State provided health insurance for the kids. We were recruited by Dr. Miriam Mills but I didn't like her changes in staff and procedures all the time. Their office didn't ever offer to get tubes for my boys and one has permanent hearing damage now. For my OBGYN I used Shari Warlick CNMW in Dr. Dannebaum's office. The doctor supervised my case until the danger of misscarriage passed then I saw her PA until Shari took over. They also have a great Neonatologist on staff, he's a trip. I don't remember his name but he's fabulous with an ultrasound.

I've had surgeries and procedures in all the hospitals. I prefer St. John's for birthing, and surgery. I avoid Hillcrest at all costs. OSU's medical center keeps changing management so you never know who you'll see. Southcrest was well staffed but they had no bedside manor. St. Francis always seems to be short staffed.

Oh one more thing if you need orthopeadic surgery, use EOOC especially Dr. Scott Rahal. My husband used him in all of his joint surgeries and he's good.

I ended up with The Orthopaedic Center's Dr. Blackmon for my rotator cuff and he didn't get it done right and one of my anchors came loose. I need to have it redone but I haven't gotten my O-Epic approval yet.

That's another thing, if your employer doesn't provide insurance or can't afford to provide it check out www.insureoklahoma.org for low cost/low income insurance for adults

For an OBGYN I use Dr. Lora Larson at Associated Women's Specialists. If you can't get in to see her there are several other good doctors within that office. She is actually at two locations, one is at St. John's and the other is at Southcrest. For a pediatrician, I use Dr. Sanjiv Sood at Birth and Beyond Pediatrics. They have a website, www.doctorsood.com if you would like more information on them. Good luck!!!

I'm a doula, and I recommend Dr. Robert Aikman, Dr. Adam Myers, or Dr. Rita Sanders if you desire little or no interventions (which is best for mamas and babies). Southcrest is the best hospital for birthing.

H.,
Hello and Welcome to the area! I would recommend Dr. Robyn Cox as an OB/GYN and Southcrest Hospital for your delivery and (their ER if you should ever need one...generally much faster to be seen). My son was delivered at Southcrest, & he was in their NICU for three weeks. Everyone was really great while we were there. As for an OB, Dr. Cox was awesome, and I've sinced turned several people onto her as well as my mother. My mother didn't have a GYN but it'd been a while since she'd had an exam. So, after recommending Dr. Cox, she finally went to see her. As it turned out, my Mom had Stage II Endometrial Cancer, and I credit Dr. Cox with discovering it before it became worse. In addition, she managed to get my Mom into one of the best gynecologic oncologists in the area. Anyway, that's just my two cents...hope it helps...good luck! :)

Oops...sorry, I forgot to give you her number, just in case...###-###-####
Oh, and as far as a pediatrician goes, Dr. Dawn Mayberry at South Tulsa Pediatrics is also a very good choice. ###-###-####

Hello and welcome to the area! I moved to the tulsa area early last year and also struggled with finding an ob doctor as well as the perfect hospital. I got lucky and found Dr. Rob Sterling (101st and Yale). He is an amazing doctor who made my first pregnancy the best I could have hoped for! Also, I chose to go to Saint Francis because that is where all nearby hospitals transport the infants should they have any complications following birth. Dr. Sterling works with St. Francis and Southcrest and gives you the option of which hospital to choose. Although my pregnancy was "normal", I went with Saint Francis in case there was a wrong turn in the delivery room. I had such a great experience at Saint Francis that I now work in the postpartum area! You couldn't ask for more! If you want any specific info, just email me and I'd be happy to talk!

Hi H.,

I have been very happy with the doctors that my family has been seeing. We had to switch pediatrician b/c we were not receiving the care we needed, but I would highly recommend the peds group we are using now. Dr. Hendricks at the Pediatric and Adolescent Care is great.

For hospitals, I spent 12 weeks at St. John's when I was pregnant with my second son and highly recommend their care. St. John's has an excellent OB staff and their new NICU is state of the art, if god forbid you baby would need to stay there.

One of my OBs during my unusual pregnancy was Dr. Lora Larson and she is absolutely the best. She is with the Associated Women's Specialist. Oh, and for primary care for you and your husband I would recommend Dr. Steve Wiseman. Hope this helps.

I really like Dr.James Millar ###-###-#### with OU Physicians next to Hillcest. He is family practice so he can see all of you and deliver the new baby! When i had my daughter I was induced, I took longer then expected so when he got off of work he came to the hospital scrubbed up and stayed in my room with me and my family until it was time about 45 min. before i started pushing. How many doctors would do that? I did like Hillcrest. I never had such nice nurses with my other deliveries.
