Has anyone had any experience(good or bad)with the OB/GYN practices, Gallee & Associate, Focus on Women or Fox Valley Women and Children's Health Partners? I think I would like to deliver at Delnor and these are the practices I've narrowed my choices down too. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I was seeing the midwife at Focus on Women for awhile. She is creepy. She is VERY interventionist and thinks more like an OB... which if that is what you are looking for, then she'd probably be a good choice.
I was really upset when I toured Delnor because they confirmed the rumors I have heard that often their rooms are full and women labor in the hallway!!! That freaked me out!

I ended up changing to West Suburban Medical Center/Ressurection and they have 3 rooms there with labor/birth tubs, and for my provider I am using West Suburban Midwife Associates. I am planning an un-medicated birth and have no complications in my pregnancy, so this might really differ from the way things are going for you or how you prefer to give birth.

So far, I have been with Midwest Midwifery (they have an office in Elgin) which I absolutely hated, Marla Ellis with Focus on Women (which I mentioned), and now am satisfied (finally!!) with the 3 midwives in Oak Park. It is a bit of a drive (about an hour) but if you're looking for top-notch care and are striving for a non-medicalized birth, it's the best choice in my opinion. Believe me, I'm picky and I've done TONS of asking around with doulas, etc!!

If you'd like more info or have questions, don't hesitate to contact me!

The comment made by Amanda I never knew was true. I delivered at Delnor and have many friends who have also...have never heard of women laboring in the hallway. They have greatly expanded the Maternity ward, so maybe that was an old rumor.

Whatever the case, I saw the team of OB's at Fox Valley Women and Childrens. Dr. Mills was my favorite, but Dr. Homan delivered my DD. Love, Love, Love them. I also see them for Gyn and I see their Pediatric group for my DD visits. Love the group...very friendly and cooperative. Appts open and flexible and never had any issues with the staff or billing. I would check them out!

I would second the recommendation for West Suburban Midwife Associates. They are fabulous and West Suburban Medical Center has the best reputation in the area for low-intervention births with great outcomes.
