Meghan,

The good news is You are fine and so is baby. Your baby is probably sitting against your back rather than protruding in you stomach. Just wait till he/she crawls up into your ribs! Ouch!

Once upon a time I was six months pregnant and still in my bikini! Man, it was great! I told people I was pregnant and they said "where?" If only it stayed that way (lol).

I lost 20 pounds after I got pregnant and then started gaining again only after 7 months! I was obvious pregnant starting in my late 8th month, meaning I just looked akwardly fat in between those two months, instead of pregnant.

Enjoy it while you can, even though I'm sure you may want to look more pregnant than you do. I did too.

I did get stretch marks because I grew all of a sudden, so, be careful of that and use as much moisturizers as you can as a preventative measure (although they say stretch marks are heriditery..lucky me!).

Hope you are enjoying your pregnancy and enjoy the fun you will have when you get to meet your beautiful baby!

Congratulations!

Sincerely,

I wouldnt worry about it. I didnt look very pregnant either with my first child. I am 17 weeks pregnant with our second child and it looks like I will not be showing anymore with this one either. I thought maybe I would show more this time since my muscles in my stomach have been stretched before already. Are you tall??? I am tall and alot of people say that I just hide it well. If you are going to your doctor like you should, everything is more than likely fine.

Hi M.... Don't worry... more than liKely nothing is wrong. All women carry differently. I am a 3d/4d ultrasound tech and see all shapes and sizes on a daily basis. last week I had a woman who was 36 weeks and barely looked 25 weeks... we met her beautiful healthy girl a few minutes later through ultrasound. Have you had your level 2 ultrasound where they mesure the baby... if those results were good stop worrying...it is not good for the baby!!!=-) juST MAKE SURE YOU ARE GETTING YOUR FOOD AND KEEPING HIDRATED.

Hi M.

Congrats on your pregnancy!! :)

I wouldn't worry too much about it if you are getting prenatal care and the OB is monitoring your baby's growth regularly at you monthly check-ups (he should be!). They are well trained to diagnose a problem and most likely if he/she has been checking on your little one and your belly growth and haven't expressed concern then you may be just one of those "lucky" mommies that have healthy pregnancy and baby but don't get the extremely large watermelon belly! :) Like one of the other posts said, it depends on your height, weight, and the way your muscles are. Your belly size has NOTHING to do with the size of your baby! But please make sure you express concern to your doctor if you feel something is wrong so that he can help you get peace of mind! Congrats again! Let us know how things turn out for you "two". :)

Hi M.,
Have you been pregnant before? Are you small to begin with? Have you talked with your doctor/midwife about it? Does the baby seem to be doing fine (heartbeat, ultrasound...)? If it's your first baby, you could just be on the slim side (lucky you!lol). Trust your intuition and work with your dr. Are you feeling the baby move yet? Pay attention to those signs too. Good luck!

Go to your Obgyn and express your concerns. He or she will do an ultrasound. Are you getting prenatal healthcare?

I wouldn't worry about it at all. I was in the military doing P.T. (5:30 early morning rigorous exercises - I did NOT know I was prego) all the way through my 3rd month. My pregnancy did not show until the very end of my 7th month. On delivery day I only looked 3 months pregnant at the most and everything was/is fine.

Trust me there is nothing wrong

i didn't show with my pregnany until i was 6 1/2 months and he turned out to be just fine

i only gained 16lbs with my pregnancy and he was 8 lbs 5 oz so don't worry about it unless the doctor says something about it because i know that they said i was fine and my little one is now 6 months and weighs 22 lbs

hopefully this helps you out

you should be fine. actually be the thankful that you will not have a ton of weight to lose afterward. i was told that a women should only eat 20% more a day while pregnate.

talk with your doctor. and good luck

I of course would ask my doctor if he/she was conserned but your pregnancy sounds a lot like my first. Durring the entire course of my first pregnancy I gained a total of 16lbs and that included gaining back the two pounds I lost durring my period of shock durring the first trimester of the pregnancy. As you can imagine, I wasn't obviously pregnant untill I was in my third trimester. The second time around was a whole other story :(

Don't worry, I was very small then too! No one could really tell that I was pregnant until I was about 24 weeks! We are very lucky, I think! My doctor just constantly measured my belly and did routine ultrasounds. I had a healthy 7 pound, 5 ounce baby girl at 40 weeks. Good luck!

As long as your Dr. says everything is o.k. I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't start to show until I was about 6 months. Everyones bodies are different. My sister-in-law started showing a 6 weeks. I have read that it takes longer to show on your first pregnancy.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Don't worry (is this your first?)...With my first (and only so far) I never showwed very much or got very big. At delivery(and he was a week late), I still only looked to be about 7 or so months. Are you tall? I am 5'8 and my doctor told me often tall people may show less because the baby "stretches out" up and down. Also, in first time Moms it takes longer for the muscles to strech out and "show". Maybe your doctor could order an ultrasound to double check all is well. Good luck!!

I didn't gain much weight for my pregnancy either and didn't look very pregnant until the last 5 weeks or so. Then my belly grew just about everyday. Everyone kept saying I looked like I was going to pop! Your doctor can tell you approximately how much your baby will weigh at birth. My baby ended up weighing 8.2 and was a week early. The good thing about being careful with gaining pregnancy weight was that I lost all the weight in two weeks. 16 pounds in the first week! Breastfeeding might have been a factor in that also. They say it burns 500 calories a day and helps shrink your uterus faster. Good luck with everything! It's such a wonderful experience.

Hey M.:

I have a few of questions for you and then we can decide to panic or not.

Is this you first? Before you got Prego, where physically fit? Are you skinny? And lastly, what has the doctor said to you.

The reason I ask this question is most 1st time pregnancies you don’t show right away. Shot I think I was 6 months before anyone noticed I was pregnant. If you are working out now or did before you were pregnant you are not going to show right away either. If you are worried ask you doctor. He/She will be the only one to easy your fears. Have you heard the heart beat? That is always a good sign. Have you had a sonogram? They will be able to tell you about the baby. You should be do for one soon or should have had it. Don’t be scared to talk to the doctor that why we pay them all that money so we can have a piece of mind.

Lastly, everyone worries about their little person growing inside of you. I have had two and each pregnancy I worried. It is natural. What you just worry more when they come out. I was scared each time; I used to say “they were safer in the womb then out in the real world.” And I still believe that.

Good luck, relax, and enjoy the little one moving inside you. It is a beautiful thing and there are lots women out there that wish they were you.

K.
