So I think I have a sinus infection, my head hurts, and my sinuses hurt. My 6 year old daughter is stuffy but she said shes not having any pain. My husband is now saying he doesnt feel good. Now, to the one Im really worried about, the 6 week old baby has been Soooo crabby the last 3 days. She pretty much cries unless Im walking around with her or nursing her. I want to take her to the doctor tomorrow, but she has no fever, her nose doesnt seem stuffy, shes breathing fine. Shes pooping, peeing, eating fine. Just VERY crabby. No symptoms of anything else. Am I going to look like a looney if I take her to the doctor? Im not going to lie, Im pretty stressed out that there is something wrong with her. Maybe a piece of mind is worth checking it out right?
Take your baby in. Who cares what the doctor thinks? You are paying the doctor for a service....... besides most doctors would prefer you err on the side of being careful.
Go in. Otherwise you have a 3 day weekend to worry. Baby may have an ear infection without fever or something else..... or nothing, but it is worth a trip to the doctor in my mind if for no other reason to help you relax.

gentle reminder- if you're breastfeeding or giving breastmilk baby eats what you eat. could be meds? could be diet? could be............??

Because the baby is so young it makes sense to get her checked out.
when my daughter was a baby, I called her ped's office with the vague "I need to come in, my baby is cranky" they responded with "ma'am, babies get cranky" but I insisted and she had a double ear infection. It may be nothing, but if you have good insurance, I'd go.
Any time our baby starts acting extra crabby or having trouble sleeping, we take him to the chiropractor. Helps a ton! We usually notice a difference almost immediately! We go to one that specializes in children and women.
They have helped us with everything from not sleeping well, crabby, to ear infections, colds, etc. That's usually our first and only avenue of treatment as it WORKS!
Just take her to the Doctor.
She is a newborn.
Babies display different symptoms than adults sometimes.
Even if for the same malady.
Just take her in.
Being that you ALL were/are sick, no you won't look like a Looney if you take her to the Doctor. Just say so, that everyone at your home is sick, too.
Since this is unusual behavior for your baby, I would be inclined to call the pedi if I were wondering. It really could be anything, from a digestive discomfort, to an early tooth, to a shift in sleep habits (this happens several times during many babies' first year), to simply feeling that you, her 'anchor,' aren't feelng as relaxed (to her) as she's used to.

Maybe she is going through a growth spurt? (when they want to eat for a couple of days strait) I think that doctors are used to parents bringing babies in for anything, everything, or even nothing! I think if it will make you feel better, take her in. If you are sick though, the nursing is giving her great immunities!!! Good luck!
She may be reacting to the change in mood at home with everyone sick. At 6 weeks this world is already new to her and now it's different again. Babies are very sensitive to their surroundings.

CONGRATS on your baby....is it possible she has reflux?
My second son cried all the time too - unless he was upright...they THOUGHT it was reflux but it turned out his ears weren't fully developed (he was 4 weeks premature, with pneumonia and much more)...we got him to an ENT and then found the problem (took us 9 months to do this!!) and then had tubes put in his ears and he was WONDERFUL!!!!
She also might be acclimating to the world around her!!! She had 9 months in this nice warm spot...all scrunched up - now she's got space!! :)

She probably has what you have, but since you are nursing her often and on demand, the sickness isn't as bad for the baby as it is for you. If you still want to get her checked out - it is definitely ok to do so!
