I have always been told that if the fever gets over 100 it is not caused by teething. I would take him to the doctor just to be safe he may have an ear infection.

It could be a virus. Keep an eye on the fever and if it persists maybe bring him to the doctor. It sounds to me like he's getting sick or could possibly have an ear infection or something. Hope he gets well soon.

Yes, please call the pediatrician! 102 is beyond my comfort zone, and it could really be anything. I'd personally rather trust their medical judgment than my maternal instincts.

Good luck! I hope he gets to feeling much better soon.

I think most pediatricians want to see kids when they have fevers over 101. Call and make an appointment. Hope he feels better.

My daughter (14 months) has had the same exact pattern of issues for the past two to three weeks. I took her to the pediatrician today as a matter of fact and they found nothing. The Dr said it could just be a growth spurt or a virus (which they can't really treat) so we just need to "wait it out". Easier said than done! I will keep you posted if I learn anything more. I hope it at least helps to know someone else is dealing with the exact same thing!

I would definitely call the ped for the fever. It could be teething or ear infection (my son gets ear infections with teething). As for the general waking, if it isn't teething (sometimes the just go up and down and cause pain, but you can't feel/see anything) or the ears, it could be a milestone interruption. Has he recently started, or about to start walking? My son would have a couple days - weeks of interruptions during new milestones.

Call the pedi! Could be a ear infection or teething! My baby girl ran a 101 fever when she was teething and once it got up to 102, I took her in! Def call the pedi until you get him in switch motrin and tylonal and get him in a luke warm bath! He could have a virus or anything really, its been going around both my babies had it just last week. Keep him hydrated and watch him! Hope he feels better soon!

I would definetly call the doctor and see what he thinks. I know our pediatrician tells us if the fever is 102 or above then they want to see the child. I would call.

It could be an ear infection. call the doctor. You don't want your little boy to suffer. The doctor can tell whats wrong hopefully.

First two things I thought was teething or ear infection. My son was only ever crabby when he had an ear infection starting. Have his ears checked--otherwise, it's probably another tooth!
