I am not sure where you took it to begin with, but I have used the owners of Hackett Brothers Automotive for 11 years. They are reliable, honest, and never make me feel auto-stupid. They are on Broad just past Northfield. If you go, tell Stacey and Barry that P. Brandon recommended them.

What kind of car? My Dad is a mechanic in Columbia and his shop is known for giving great service at a great price. But they only do Hondas and Acuras

The only place I take my car to is Mastertech Automotive on Memorial. Those guys are honest and will tell me if something can wait, needs to be done right away, or whatever. If they can't fix something, they will give me the names of dependable places to take my car. As a single woman, it feels good to know that they will not do more/charge more than necessary.

I will tell you where NOT to take it: Bennett's Auto in Smyrna. I have had too many friends that have taken their car there because he uses the church to hide his bad business behind. One friend took her daughters car there for a reason, and it was never fixed but he said it needed $1200 worth of other work and they told him the problem wasn't fixed, a week later it blew up. I have heard many stories like that from them and supposedly he uses the church to get his business and then he rips people off. So just be careful.
