I recently found out I am pregnant with our second child. I was wondering if any of you have any creative or fun way to tell my we are expecting baby #2.

Thanks so much!

My first two are 19 months apart. To anounce the news to my parents, we did it at my daughters 1st birthday party. We have her a book about having a new baby in the house and a baby doll of her own. My parents got the message, and the book and baby doll actually helped prepare the new big sister. Congratulations and good luck!

Well, my sister found out right around christmas time she was expecting so sent out christmas cards with all the names of everyone in the family and then said at the end and baby. Everyone thought it was a cute idea how they thought of that. So since its Halloween and or Thanksgiving soon depending when you want to tell them, send out Happy Halloween or Thanksgiving cards and say from name all your names and baby. Good luck

J.,

I did something different with each baby.

#1 - Made a baby quilt and gave it to my husband as a gift.
#2 - Put an "I'm a big sister" t-shirt on my first child and took her to show my husband.
#3 - Made a dinner with "baby" foods: Baby backed ribs, steamed baby carrots, rolls we called "baby bottom" rolls because it was two rolls stuck together, and a cake with crumbled "Baby Ruth" candy bars on top. It took a little while, but the family figured it out.
#4 - We had just come up with our own family crest. I made t-shirts with the crest on it for each family member and made an extra in a newborn sized onesie and presented them to everyone. They caught on right away.

Congrats,
S.

Yep. The t-shirt thing is what I want to do when we get pregnant again. Gymboree usually has ones that say "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" in their lines. So I will just have the kids wear to a family event and wait to see their reactions!

When we announced that we were expecting our second. I had made my son a shirt that said im gona be a big brother and put it on him when we went to a family function and didnt say anything. I just waited to see how long it took for people to notice and it was a lot of fun to see thier reactions when they read it. Good luck and congratulations on the second!

Before I told my family about our second, I took pictures of my first son holding up signs. The first picture's sign said "Hey!", then the second picture said "Guess What?" then "I'm going to be a big brother!!" on the last picture. Then I put the group of photos together in the middle of a pile of other pictures. That way it was a surprise when they got to the middle of the stack. Everyone seemed to love the pictures and it was fun, easy and inexpensive.

2chix.com has some great t-shirts. We got the "knocked up" for me and the "look what I did" for my husband, and when we were ready to tell people, we just wore them out and around and waited for people to notice. It was truly hilarious! We did it with both pregnancies. I saw another t-shirt that had a spine and pelvic bone and then a baby in the fetal position, I don't know what company made that.

Or, wait until Christmas and give gifts from #1 and #2.

We had our son wear a shirt around the family. The front said "I know something you don't know!" and the back said "I'm going to be a big brother!" It was cute and the family loved it! Congrats and have fun.
