Yesterday I went to my first Chiropractor appt. and got all the routine xrays because I am a new patient today I found out I'm pregnant. I had a little suspicion but was fairly certain I wasn't cause the chances were slim. I was on birth control but just had a feeling which usually proves to be wrong but anyhow I got the xrays and I am pregnant. Now I'm worried they may have hurt the baby. Any Advise???

What can I do next?

I had a few xrays during two of my pregnancies. Both boys are healthy and had no effects from the radiation. Like everyone else has said, speak with your OB about it but I'm sure everything will be fine. Stressing about things usually makes it worse. If you don't have an appointment coming up soon, give the nurse a call. She should be able to give you some advise.

I'm sure your baby is fine. I had the same thing happen -- I had x-rays taken in the emergency room when I was just a week or so pregnant, and I have a very healthy boy!

It all depends on how far you are and how much radiation you were exposed to... I would contact your doctor and see what advice he/she gives you. I had an X-ray on my knee when I was pregnant and didn't know it. I did end up miscarrying, but who knows if that was the reason. Good luck. V.

I had 2 cat scans and 2 xrays right before I found out I was pregnant. Ask your chiro to calculate the amount of radiation (your chiro will probably have a radiologist calculate it) you were exposed to, and let your ob/gyn know. I was exposed to a lot, and they told me if I did not miscarry by 12 weeks, that everything would probably be ok (it does increase the chance of early miscarriage if you get a lot of radiation). My son is two now, and perfect. Good luck.

Hi A.! I am an Xray tech. Xrays these days are so minimal these days, it shouldn't be a problem. Be sure to mention it to your OB, but I wouldn't worry about it.

HELLO A., I DON'T THINK ONE SET OF X-RAYS ARE GOING TO HURT ANYTHING SO DON'T WORRY. I HAD X-RAYS WHILE BEIN PREGNANT AND MY BABIES ARE FINE. I THINK THEY MEAN MULTIPLE X-RAYS BESIDES AS FAR AS I THINK ULTRASOUNDS ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS X-RAYS AND WOMEN HAVE ULTASOUNDS ALL THE TIME. I WOULDN'T WORRY A..
