Ok, I am interested in making some extra money after having not been a part of the working class for about 3 years. I am still wanting to be a stay at home mom, but the extra money would help us out greatly! First of all I am not a sales person and don't have the time to do "partys" for Jewelry, private quarters or the like. I am looking for something that I can do from home possibly on the computer for a company or maybe even a few evenings a week outside the home. I used to be an administraive assistant before I quit to stay at home with my children. Idealy I would like to work for a company (locally) rather than run my own business. I am pretty skeptical about the online survey jobs and other online "work from home" jobs that are posted on the internet and really don't trust them. So, I don't know if even a job like this exists, but if anyone has any ideas of anything like this, could you please pass the info my way. Any information or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

What can I do next?

There are more scams than not out there and you have to really be careful.

If you have admistrative skills, maybe you could work in that capacity for a company and telecommute. Many sales reps need administrative help and it is something you can do from home as far as being the customer support for the reps.

I would market my skills to people like this, networking, linkedn is a business networking site.

Keep in mind that working from home is a JOB and requires focus and discipline. We run our company from home and it works well for us right now, however, we are looking for some office space at the moment just to move it all out of the house. It becomes work 24/7 if you are not careful.

Good luck.

You are wise to be cautious. I was/am too. A few months ago I started working from home (in addition to my full time job) in an attempt to build a business that would eventually replace my income so I could stay home. Too much info to cover here so if you would like free information with no obligation send me a message or go to www.workathomeunited.com/madden and I can share the details.

Best of luck to you.

Most WAH opportunities are scams. Especially right now, everyone seems to want to work from home (scan down the list here and you'll see this is asked daily), so the scammers are out in full force.

I've worked from home as a freelance writer for nine years now and love it. However, I avoided being scammed by having my own business.

A great starting point is www.wahm.com. It has useful articles about the realities of working from home. If you just need a little money, you may be fine without childcare but if you need to earn more than that, childcare will likely be essential. Most companies with phone-based work will require it.

Good luck!

Hello M.! I have been with a wonderful company for about 5 years now, after being involved with several WAHM scams myself. Don't be mislead, there truly are several GREAT companies out there that can help you start your own business that are truly legit. I have been involved with a few before now, but I'm completely loving Scent-Sations. The company has honest and legit owners and can truly offer you a great compensation plan.
Of course, unless you have a passion for what you're doing, you will never enjoy it or do great at it. I do encourage you just to take a quick look at http://www.candleheaven.org and see if it's a good fit for you. If not, that's great too, just wanted to tell you about this great company that has given alot back to me over the years!
Good look to you in whatever you do!
