T.,

I highly recommend MOMS Club for lots of activities and to make other mom friends. I belong to the Club of Shawnee East and it has "saved my sanity". My daughter and I have made great friends and have gotten out and about doing all kinds of fun things.

I believe that there is a new Club in Overland Park. I couldn't find a web site for them (they are so new that they may not have one, yet), but if you get on the MOMS Club International site and send them an e-mail request for a contact in O.P., they will send you the name: http://www.momsclub.org/join.html

Good luck!

T., Both of my kids really enjoy Kindermusik. We attend every Thursday morning. They've been going since they were tiny babies (couple months old). There are all kinds of groups around town that offer KM, but we attend in Olathe with Laura Beckman. I think the website is kindermusikwithlaura.com.

Maybe when your daughter is a little older, you could find a part-time job or volunteer. That way you won't feel so "bored", and it will give you another (hat) to wear, so to speak. In the meantime, get involved with mom/playgroups. Take your daughter out for the day, and do things in the community (of course, you have to go around her naptime :-)). Make sure you take some time for yourself (maybe a weekend afternoon), and give your husband bonding time with your daughter.

Check out www.musikconnection.com. They are part of KinderMusik and have a fantastic program for kids and moms. They are located on 291 highway in Independence not far from 23rd street.

I can't say enough about their music, craft programs.

Hope that helps!
