Hi Mamas!

I am pregnant with our second child due in May 2008. I have a 23 month old daughter who is currently still sleeping in her crib. We will be using the baby furniture in her room for baby #2, so we need to buy her new furniture. I have two questions....first, should we get a toddler bed or just go ahead and get a twin bed with maybe a trundle or something like that? I am leaning towards a twin with rails, but would appreciate any thoughts you guys might have.

My second question is...where do I go to buy children's furniture? Most of my searches in the Houston area (we're near Sugar Land) have turned up baby furniture places. I don't want to spend a fortune, but we're going to need a whole bedroom (twin bed, dresser and nightstand). Any suggestions on where to start shopping would be really helpful. We want to make the switch in January after she turns 2 so that she will be used to it before the baby comes.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi!!

Please dont buy toddler bed. It's so wasteful. I suggest for you to get twin bed with trundle or buy trundle later. They have darling twin bed with trundle in Pottery Barn Kids, The bombay kids (maybe you will get good deal since they are going out of business), or USA Baby.

Good luck!!

Have you tried looking at IKEA? www.ikea.com They have cute, cheap furniture. You might be able to find something there. And they are too far away from Sugar Land.

Good luck!

We got our son's baby furniture at USA Baby, and were very pleased with their selection and service. If you find one that is a USA Baby/Childspace, they have lots of furniture for older kids as well.

For cheaper children's furniture, you might also try IKEA.
