Okay, so i have a daughter who is 16 months old (12 months corrected) and she has been on NeoSure preemie formula for 9 months. She has only gained a few lbs since she came home from the NICU 9 months ago and her pedi is switching her to a more age appropriate formula. During the last few weeks Ive stocked up on Neosure because I hate to run out of anything. Well now i have about 30 cans of formula that i need to resale so that i can purchase the new formula. Do any of you mothers know where i can sell and get top dollar for it??? I paid 100 for 6 cans and would really like to get at least 80 per case. Ive tried resale childrens boutiques and they only offered me 2 bucks per can (10 bucks per case)!!! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I purchased this formula from a few places but the only place that let me return some was Target. They have a limit of $70 without a receipt so i only returned $70 worth with my photo id and then $70 with my husbands id. Im just glad i got something back and was able to get some of my daughters new formula. I will not buy this much anymore. I thought she was doing fine on this formula and I didnt see her getting switched to a new formula anytime soon so i stocked up. Bad idea! I think i will sell the rest on ebay...so far so good...the auctions are already half way where i would like them and its only the first day. Again thank you so much for your suggestions. I dont know why i didnt think of ebay or craigslist before!

Try Craig's list -make sure you put on there that they are still in date and still sealed or you could try taking them back to where you bought them and see if they would switch them out for the new formula. Congrats on your baby girl- from a mommy of preemies- I wish you all the best!

If they wont let you return it then craigslist is great. even if people think its overpriced im sure theyll be someone who needs it and will be grateful to you!

Since the cans and/or cases aren't opened, I would try to return it to where you bought it. They may not give you cash, but a credit for other items.
Your pediatrician office might let you put something on the bulletin board about it. You'd have to ask. Money is so tight right now for so many people. Your pediatrician might know of someone else who could use the formula but $80 per case could be a stretch for some people all at once.
You can see if there are any takers locally on Craig's list so you don't have to pay for shipping.
I worse come to worse, you can always donate it. Many places will give you a receipt for the price you mention and you can write if off as a charitable donation.

I hope you find someone to buy it.
I would advise not buying so much at a time next time to make sure your daughter likes it and isn't switched to something else soon.

Good luck and best wishes!

If you bought it very recently and you still have the receipt, you could probably take it to the store and exchange for the other formula. For formula, it must be unopened and purchased within a certain period of time. A couple weeks should be okay. The reason there is a time limit is that they don't know how you stored it. Call and ask

You can donate it to the food bank and then you can write it off and get a deduction on your taxes. That's probably the best way you're going to recoup your money.
