I started my medicine for my UTI on Thursday taking it twice a day now here it is Saturday and I still have that pain in my back. It is just dull aching pain. For some reason I feel that the pain should be going away not hanging around. Doctor said if it isn't getting any better to call, but with a busy schedule I'm going to have to wait until Monday.

So should the pain being easing up?

What can I do next?

that sounds more kidney, which can be FAR more serious than your garden variety UTI... if you have still have fever today, I'd hit up an urgent care facility asap. if no fever, you may hold off til Monday, but only you know how bad you feel... please put your needs ahead of your busy schedule, you need to rest if nothing else, seriously. chug tons of water as well.

Back pain with a UTI can indicate a kidney infection- I had that happen once. I had to go on much more aggressive antibiotics to clear it up. If you are running a fever, you may want to go to urgent care. If your current antibiotics aren't working, the infection will just get worse. Of course, you may just have slept on it wrong or something not related to the UTI.

Hope you feel better soon, UTIs are no fun.

Sounds like the UTI is migrating upwards into your kidneys and your antibiotics are not working. I had a full kidney infection once - the worst pain of my life (and I gave birth med free!) - something I would not wish to repeat.

Once they get you started on abx the symptoms should let up within 24 to 48 hours. It's been three days now... So call your doctor or go to an urgent clinic today.

It sounds like your meds may not be working, and I agree that you may have a kidney infection. However, you may also have a kidney stoney. (I've had both, they're no fun.). the pain should be easing by now.

We aren't doctors, so really, we can't tell you for sure what is going on. If the doctor said to call, please do so. I'm concerned that if you wait until Monday to call, you may be in much worse condition and may need more urgent intervention. This is nothing to mess around with. Been there done that. Please don't wait.

Give it until Monday. You said you are too busy, which says to me you are functioning well. If it was getting worse, you would know it. It's just been 48 hours.

I've had many kidney stones, and that pain is in the back. It can intensify and the progress around to the abdomen.

I've also had UTI's, but I don't recall any back pain.

Now, I am by no means an expert, but I think it's worth a phone call. UTI's and kidney stones are usually very easily treated, but can also progress to a kidney infection if they go untreated. A kidney infection can become quite serious, so again, I think it's definitely worth a phone call.

Hope you feel better soon.
