Trying to Loose Baby Weight

My second child is nearly a year old and I still have thirty pounds of baby weight. I had no problem loosing it after my first child and this is just awful. I can't seem to get motivated to diet. I go a few days and eat really well and then I go back to eating junk. And, I can't seem to find the time to exercise!!

What can I do next?

I have 4 children, youngest being 2, not to mention health issues, and it's been hard getting the weight off. I have found a few sites on here that has helped me a lot. Maybe they can help you out too. www.3fatchicks.com and www.fitday.com. 3fatchicks has a lot of info and they are very supportive....I also just found www.calorieking.com. Haven't used it much but it looks like it has about everything. Good luck and I hope these help.

I lost 50 lbs. on weight watchers. It's easy to follow, as long as you are self-disciplined. It's also really helpful to go to a meeting once a week--I count it as "me" time. It is a wonderful plan that allows you to eat what you want, the only difference is in moderation! You really learn what portion control is and you will learn ways to keep away from junk food and make better choices.

I dont have a second, but I kept the weight after my first despite the breastfeeding. I did South Beach and took off my weight in a little over a month. Exercise will help the process right along...

Best of luck.

The South Beach diet worked for me for losing weight... It's been almost 2 months since I gave birth, and I'm planning on starting back on the diet tomorrow. I totally lost my self-control when it comes to food during pregnancy. The URL below is a great resource for anyone interested in info and help about the South Beach diet. They have tons of great recipes and descriptions of the different steps, not to mention forums for moral support.

Hi A. ... I completely feel your pain. I lied to myself towards the end of my pregnancy, saying I'd only gained 35 lbs with my son; however, I gained 55! When Noah turned 8 months & my birthday was looming in 60 days I got extremely upset that I had been wearing maternity jeans for over a year. (I had refused to buy Plus Size simply to fit in Something)

I had to get very serious about logging my food intake & I bumped up my cardio. I had been going to the gym, but I was doing more weight work than cardio, which is what I needed to kick start my weight loss. I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but still need to lose another 20 lbs (at least). It is a task every day ... I imagine that it always will be.

I know it gets crazy finding time to exercise ... right now I got to the YMCA (Northeast). Childcare is included w/your monthly fee & I've always found the workers to be great w/my son. The facility is definately family friendly as compared to other gyms.

Also ... Weight Watchers has an online chat board. You don't have to be a member to be a part of the "community." I use this often, even though I no longer do WW. Good motivation & it keeps me out of the kitchen!

Good luck! I wish I had the magic pill ... even when I was a pre-teen, I wished to fall asleep and wake up skinny.

I am also 30 and I just had my third child. I think it must be the age because I had the hardest time losing the weight. I made myself join a fitness club and I went 5 times a week for an hour at a time. I know you said that you don't have time, but I know that working out really did it for me. I was able to eat what I wanted and I still lost the weight because I was working out so much. Good Luck.

it is always harder to lose after the second child...just watch what you eat, and walk, even ifit is just up and downthe stairs, or around the house...keep as active as you can. eat salad, and fruit as much as you can...they are empty calories and good for you..ood luck

You might consider the governor's "lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks" plan. Check it out at www.inshape.in.gov.

I just had my third child 3 months ago, so I know your pain. On the first I started a low carb diet similar to South Beach and have already lost 13lbs. It's amazing! I also use fitday.com, but if you want some motivation go to lowcarbfriends.com

I also have quite a few friends who have lost weight with Weightwatchers. Right now they have a special where you don't have to pay the sign on fee. (just the weekly fee)

Goodluck!

I eat the same way really... but I joined Curves and it helps! I'm lucky in that Curves and work are both 5 minutes away from home. It's a great place to go to recharge, make new friends, take care of yourself. hope this helps!
