Hello! I used Herbalife after my 3rd son and easily got back into my size 3's I hadn't worn since I was 22. However , just like with any weight loss program you have to stay on it for maintaining that weight loss. So, my advice is do something that you can live with for the long run whether it is weight watchers, Herbalife, Slim Fast, diet and exercise, etc.
The one kudo I will give to Herbalife is it was super easy to follow, there is a lot of support if you have the right distributor, I felt great and had a lot of energy on it, and it really targeted my belly fat which is always difficult to lose after you have children! I am now pregnant with my 4th child and I will use it again to lose and maintain my weight if that is any reference for you.
Whatever you choose, good luck!!

I have done 2 things that worked. Weight Watchers was great--1-2 lbs per week but I worked really hard at it.
Took me a few years to gain the weight back (I love to eat) so last year I did the "medical weight loss", what all the dr's are doing in town. I went 1/week, they gave me an appetite suppressant (worked great), and a vitamin injection. I lost 15 lbs in only 5 weeks or so. They do put you on a strict diet, so it's not like the shot lets you eat anything you want. And it's $--usually $60+ per week. I did it with Tampa Med Partners ###-###-####) but there are others. Dr. Garcia or Dr. DeLucia in S Tampa and there's MediWeightLoss here on SR54.
Good luck!

I don't know how old your baby is, but nothing comes to us quickly (There are no quick solutions especially if you want to be healthy). I say enjoy your baby and all that mother hood brings and the weight will eventually fall off with execrising and healthy eating.
I should know because I had my third baby exactly one year ago and well with the first two the weight just went away with breast feeding and living life (and I've been pretty tone and skinny naturally all of my life) I was 5ft.7in and barely weighted 125lbs. This was after two babies but this third child put something on me. I gained 60lbs, or atleast I stopped looking at the scale after I hit the 60lbs mark (so for my sake I lie to myself and say 60lbs)I had fat fingers feet, toes I was a mess. Then to add insult to injury my baby sister (who has a great body and work out 2 hrs a day) Just couldn't stop saying how much cellulite I had and how big I still was after having the baby, How big my stomach still was (she didn't know when to put a sock in it). Nevertheless, for this entire year I've ran two miles, mostly watch what I eat and continue to Breast feed I'm back to wearing some of my old clothes. I'm slimming up, but I need to tone up. Granted with my last two children all I had to do was have the baby and the weight was gone. What I'm trying to say is "enjoy the baby and the rest will come." Anywho, once we hit our thirties well it gets a little harder to take it off as fast(so I've been told and have experienced).

There is really no "Quick Fix". With both of my children, it took me about 2 years to get back to my Pre-Baby weight...

I can tell you that Green Tea helps to promote weight loss, I was a Sobe Green Tea junkie for a while. I LOVE to do Yoga. Believe it or not, as "un-physical" as it is, all of the stretching really helps to tone your body...without the pain. Walk, purchase a jogging stroller, maybe walk 5 minutes, jog a minute etc.

Best of Luck to you.

Even if you are not dropping the pounds as you wish you were, just remember that you are the luckiest mommy in the world, and there is someone that loves and needs you! : )

First of all congratulations on the baby!! My son is a year now and Im still not at the weight I want but I know the best way to do it is high protein no starchy carbs and lots of cardio and Toning.I have a hard time with the high protein thing but alot of people make it a life style change. Keep it lean meats lots of veggies at least one fruit a day I guess its alot like following the South beach diet. Working out is key... good hard workouts. Good luck I hope this helped :)

Well, I wasn't one of those moms who nursed and the weight fell right off. My body held onto it until I was done nursing....I recently I started Isagenix and replaced just one meal a day and in 3 months I lost 20lbs (my sister sells it). )My 3rd child will be 1 on the 21st and was so hard to lose the weight I gained with this one.) Isagenix is a program and I take the shake that gives your body all nutrients it needs to work properly, and if you are nursing it is safe to drink...Drs have told 3 of my friends they could keep drinking it while pregnant and/or nursing. They also have a cleansing system that gets rid of all the junk in your body. Some people have lost 20 lbs in one month by cleansing and doing the shakes 2 meals a day. I also excercise at least 4 mornings a week, just doing turbo jam. The other thing that always helps me is to cut down on the carbs, no bread, potatoes..etc Just do a lof of vegetables, fruit, lean meat, and some dairy.

Good luck!

I was just going to the meetings and now I am doing the meetings and etools and I like that even better... I have consistently lost 1-2 pounds every week since I have been on it. I did gain one week so I have averaged aprox. 8 pounds over a 7 week period.

I'm a weight loss coach and want to convince you that there is no quick solution that is healthy or lasting. Please don't get sucked into some fad. You will regret it later, and if you lose and gain you will risk your long term health. I have a website with lots of info if you want to check it out...www.moreislessdiet.com. Please be patient and lose it the way you gained it.

First, you don't say WHEN you had the baby. Second, you don't say if you are nursing. I nursed for 4 months before my daughter weened herself. In that 4 month time, I lost the 20 lbs extra I still had from pregnancy. Now, 2 years later, I am down below my prepregnancy weight and in a smaller size than I've ever worn. Be patient. You have a little joy to watch over and love. Don't be too concerned with your appearance if (s)he is a new little thing. The world will be adoring your baby, not worrying about your weight. Give it time.

Hi Z.,
It sounds like you know this already, but the best tried and true way to lose weight is through a good exercise routine and healthy eating. Usually, when you use weightloss supplements to help quick weight loss, you end up putting back on all the weight you loss and then even add more. The best way to lose the weight is to boost your metabolism. One way to boost that metabolism is through adding some strength/resistance training to your workout regime. Strength training helps build lean muscle mass, and muscle burns more calories than cardio exercise.
Checkout www.strollerfit.com to learn more about losing that post baby weight. They have 3 great class formats to work every part of your body (StrollerFit classes, restore the core (lose the low belly sag), and mommymuscle sculpt.
The weight will come off quickly and stay off when you incorporate this type of exercise!!
I hope this helps.

I am doing great on Weight Watchers and I am so happy with the way I eat. I've lost 24 lbs. since the begining of March. I did meetings for two months then switched to just the online program. I couldn't be happier, just bought my first size 6, ever as an adult!

I have tried Herbal Life. I lost 30 lbs. in one month. BUT! IT IS A LOT OF PILL TAKING! AND I GAINED IT ALL BACK PLUS SOME!

Weight Watchers is best! and you don't even have to go to a meeting... You can do it on line. The difference with Weight Watchers is that they teach you how to eat... With practice it can become second nature.

Hope this helps!

Nursing, nursing, nursing. You and your baby will both benefit SO much, and you get to relax and sit down and gaze into each other's eyes to boot! I know every body is different, but in my experience, the pregnancy weight just came off naturally over the course of about 8 months or so. But this requires feeding "on demand," not on a schedule of any kind. So there were some days when we barely got out of bed, which is hard when there are other kids to attend to! Do your best! And remember that your baby thinks you are the most gorgeous person in the whole world! (This has helped me to feel better about some skin problems I have had during these crazy hormonal times!) Hang in there.

I agree that weight watchers is great program. I lost my weight on Isagenix - http://powerup.isagenix.com. My parents tried it first (in their 60s) had great results and knew that I was having a hard time losing weight after baby #3 and told me to try it. I am so very very thankful I did. I was back into my size 4/6 by the time my baby was 9 months.

I am now pregnant with baby #4 and still do at least one shake a day - my Dr. looked at everything and said it was great nutrition and are looking at recommending it at their practice. And my 3 year old drinks the shakes too - they taste really good.

DO NOT go to Dr. Garcia or the other Dr weight loss places that seem to be all over Tampa!! I can pick every single woman out at a PTA meeting that is going there. They are all pale, losing their hair, and hunched over like an old women. those programs are so lacking in nutrients that yes you lose weight, and fast, but you will put it back on because you are losing muscle too. Then they give you back some vitamins in a shot. And the pills are basically a form of speed. It just burns me up that Doctors, who are suppose to be looking out for patients health, are actually preying on people who are desperate to lose weight but won't take the time to learn how to eat healthy - just looking for the quick fix.

Z. - you know you will get some great advice here. Just realize that it did take some time to put it on. And don't compare yourself to celebrity moms who have personal chefs, nannies, and trainers. It just isn't realistic!

Good luck
S.

You don't say if you are nursing or not. If you are nursing, I wouldn't take anything. But then if you are nursing it will get you back in shape quick. Nursing is the best weight loss program there is after having a child.

Everyone's body is different and breastfeeding or not will also impact your ability to lose weight. I really don't have much better advice than be careful eating too much fat and suger and excerside regularly but I will tell you about my experience.
The day I delivered my 8lb 9.5oz daughter I lost 40 lbs! I guess I had a TON of fluid, but I also had severe swelling in my limbs and it took another week for that to go away; within that week I lost another 10 pounds. I was only able to breast feed for 5 weeks due to latching problems but I lost another 10 lbs or so simply eating good, drinking a lot of water and breastfeeding- but the rest of the weight didn't come off until after I stopped breastfeeding actually and came back to work. My work is different than most people though, I work at a beach club where I walk up and downa boardwalk 100+ times a day.
Within weeks of having my baby i was down to my normal "weight" but my jeans still would not button- it took about 4 months for my hips to go back to thier normal position.
I guess my point is that you may have to wait a few months no matter what you eat, how you exercise or what pills you take just to give your body time to "heal" and return to normal.
Don't know if this helps- but I alway love to read my replies anyway
