Hi J., I'm going to share some personal info with you and hope it helps. I was on the pill for 13 years when I decided I wanted to have kids. I stopped in June and found out I was pregnant in October. The first few months while we were trying it seemed like it would never happen. And then I realized, the less you think about it and just enjoy the intimacy with your husband, things might work out for you. Good luck. Hope everything works out for you.

The key to getting pregnant (or not for that matter) is knowing when you're ovulating. I would highly recommend picking up the book called Fertility Awareness Handbook: The Natural Guide to Avoiding or Achieving Pregnancy. You can find it on Amazon.com. My older sister gave me that book when I was about 16 and I've used what I've learned as my birth control method since then. It teaches you to learn your body's fertility signs so you know when you can get pregnant or not whichever the case may be. When my husband and I decided we were ready to have a baby I used my knowledge from this book and we got pregnant on the first try! Ofcourse there could be other variables involved in your specific situation but reading this book would definitely be a good starting point. Best wishes and God bless!

If you continue to have a problem I would go to a doctor who specializes in fertility. Secondary infertility is not uncommon and there are things that could be done to help you. My husband and I were also told we had no problems and it was just a matter of luck and timing. Well...three years, three artificial inseminations and 7 IVF cycles later we FINALLY have our little miracles (soon to turn 1!)

You probably don't have a problem but it doesn't hurt to see a specialist.

when my husband and I got married, i got pregnant two weeks after the wedding. the doctors told me it would take at least 3 months, lol. when we decided to have another baby it ook over two years. i thought the same way as you. i spoke to the doctors as well and like you all was fine. the only thing my doctor told me was... you need to have sex everyother day. i thought well my husband will be happy. we never wanted it to turn into a project, so we finaly relaxed and almost gave up, when next thing i knew i was pregnant.. so i guess the advice i have for you is try to relax and have lots of sex.

believe me when i tell you that asking over the net is not as bad as having your gyn (who happenes to be about 65 -70) explain to you what position is best in the middle of the exam.

but this is what he said, any position that has your pelvis elevated slightly (pillow underneath the backside), and stay on your back for twenty minutes or so afterwards (it fights the effects of gravity) - best advice do far- don't stress out about it- have fun ;-)

J.,

There is a great book out there called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has all kinds of information on topics ranging from timing, positions, different supplements to boost fertility, how to track cervical mucous and basal body temperature, etc. I have known a lot of women online who have used methods from this book to help them conceive, and have had a lot of success.

Good luck, and keep trying!!

J.:

grat news on trying to have a baby I just had my first 2 mo ago and it is quite exciting. I had a lot of problems getting pg it took me almost a year. After reading a lot on the Internet and spending a lot of money on ovulation predictor sticks I came across the clear blue easy fertility monitor, it is about $200 but it is well worth it. I got pg the second time I used it. Believe had I gone this route from the begining I would have saved money!! My friend also was having trouble getting pg and I loaned it to her, she too got pg the second time she used it. We both have regular menstrual cycles. Hope this helps and hope you get pg soon.
