Hi Ladies- this might be gross but I am looking to see if any women have experienced mid cycle bleeding before? I have been on my current BC pill for 3 years and this month I had some pink/red blood a couple days ago (about day 12 in my pill pack). Now it is brown mucasy discharge at day 14. Never had this before so I am wondering why all the sudden I would have breakthrough bleeding. Age 35, 2 kiddos under age 5. Something I need to go to the gyno for? Or should I wait another cycle and see what happens?

What can I do next?

Mid spotting could have been explained away - but not the brown mucous discharge. Discharge is generally clear - barely light cream/yellowish - which is the body self cleansing... but brown? It will not hurt anything to get an appt with your GYN.

If it continues to happen go to to the Dr. You might just need to change the pills you're on. I had mid-cycle bleeding and my Dr changed my pills and now I haven't had that problem.

Totally happens. Could be stress. Could be a new woman in the office/your life whose cycle is different than yours and your body is trying to adjust - LOL - it happens!

No biggie.

i would probably take a pregnancy test just to make sure that you aren't pregnant before taking any pills. even though you've been taking it for 3 years you never know. my husbands mother had her tubes cut, and burned, and tied, and she still got pregnant with him. and my mom was on BC when she had my sister. if you aren't pregnant, than call the OB.
