The Dreaded Double Stroller Question.

Okay, we already have a double stroller. I hate it, point blank. It was what we could afford at the time and what would fit in our tiny trunk. Now we have a bigger car (suv), and the kids are older and bigger and just don't fit in it anymore Plus, it's pretty flimsy and cheaply made. Right now we have a Combi Twin Sport and my just turned 3 year old is too tall for it. He is too tall for sit and stands too so as much as I'd like to go that route, we can't. He does fit in a Britax B-Nimble stroller though, I so wish they made a double of that. I have never been able to find a Maclaren double to test out in a store. But I have heard/read great things about those. I can't afford to pay $600 for a stroller, and walking is not an option for him. Plus, I want to go on walks with the kids.

So what suggestions do all you wonderful ladies have for me?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Most sit and stands say up to 40 inches and 40 lbs for the bench seat. He turned 3 in January and is 43 inches tall and 45lbs.

FYI, we used our Baby Trend Sit n Stand until my oldest was 6. So I'm not sure I understand why your 3 year old is to tall for it.
I also used an older double jogger where the front wheel doesn't rotate. That was a pain. Plus they could pick on each other when they're side by side. It did go fast in a straight line.
Good luck on your search!

I got both my double strollers off of Craigslist for CHEAP (@ $40 each). They both have some cosmetic problems, but the price was right.
I have a Maclaren stroller - I think it was one of the higher end double strollers, when it was new. I manuevers GREAT - I can almost steer it with one hand, and is light enough that I can manage picking it up/putting in my car, etc. easily. It also folds up small enough to fit in my jetta. I use this for any trips that involve putting a stroller in a car (zoo, mall, etc), I highly recommend this stroller.

I also have a Baby Trend double jogger. Its heavy, not GREAT manuevor, and wont fit in my trunk, and is hard to put in my husbands Santa Fe, without removing the wheel. I use this for walks or runs around my neighborhood, but would not recommend it for a serious running jogger because it is so heavy - unless you just want the work out. Its great for going for walks, though.

With whatever stroller you get, I would recommend looking at how much it weighs and how easy it is to fold up.

I don't have a double, but I LOVE our single "bob" stroller! they have an awesome looking dually, and the bobs are pretty spacious (I think a small adult could almost fit in it as long as the canopy was up)

They are kind of pricey, so maybe you would have luck finding a gently used one on eBay or something.

Good Luck!
