My daugther is 10 months and she has been teething for a while now, I have tryed teething rings, orajel, frozen wash rags, anything hard to chew on for a while. I have come to the point were i dont know. There is this old wise tail for a sliver dime that some how works with the pain. Yes I know your thinking what does a dime have to do with it , I dunno but if she dont seem to wear the dime she gets really crabby and i cant stand it. but if the dime is on her she is fine,? anyone ever used that.?

Also what are the other teething symptoms for babies? My Daugther keeps getting a diaper rash?
How can i get her tooth to come in quicker than it is?

I also have another quetion. My husband is unable to feed her a bottle and food, she will not take it for him,. Why is that? Is that normal? I am the one that usally feeds her cuz im the one that is always home with her when he is at work. I just worried about that. WIll she grow out of that phase or no?

any suggestions will help

What can I do next?

Have you tried teething tablets or Oral-gel? Also, if you are giving her Tylenol for the pain, it only relieves pain. Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) relieves both the pain and the swelling.

Diarrhea, diaper rash, fever, and frequent colds are all common with teething. Experts will say that teething does not cause a fever, but as a mother, I know that each of my kids had a fever before a tooth broke the surface. Diarrhea is caused by the excess of swallowed saliva and that in turn causes the frequent diaper rash. Frequent colds are caused by everything they get a hold of going in their cute little mouth.

Never heard of the dime thing, but if it works, go for it! Diaper rash, fever, crabbiness, drooling, refusing to eat...are all symptoms and side effects of teething. I don't think there is any way to get a tooth to cut through faster. If there was a way, we would all know about it since teething can be a pain for everyone. Keep that dime around...she has alot of teething left to go!

You can look into Amber teething necklaces for babies. I've not personally used them, but heard they work wonders.

Also, my boys didn't do as well eating with their daddy as they did with me. This was especially true when they were younger and I was nursing them. But maybe too she's not eating as well b/c her mouth hurts. My 17 month old is currently teething, and his appetite is definitely lower.

Just hang in there, and try not to stress too much about it -- esp. the food. She will eat when she is hungry, and unless it is having a negative impact on her health (she is falling behind the growth curve, the ped says so, etc) then I wouldn't make food too much of an issue.

Blessings, Mama!

Yes...diaper rash is a side effect of teething...and so is diarrhea so if her bowels start to get runny I wouldn't worry, she could also get a fever too. As far as what you're doing..it sounds like you have done everything possible to soothe her pain...I wish I knew something else to tell you to help her. And for her not eating...I am the one that always feeds my daughter but she eats for her daddy. All babies are different and I'm pretty sure it is just a stage. Good luck!

P.S. some info that might help...
