We are going to the beach for Spring Break with our 4 year old and 10 month old sons. I need to find a good sunscreen for my 10 month old. He does not want to wear a hat so I need to find good, safe protection for him. Have you used one that works well with kids his age? Thanks.

The Bullfrog spray is awesome. I just cover my kiddos' faces with my hand or a washcloth (or a T-shirt, or whatever is handy) when I'm spraying near their heads. We get great coverage and it's so easy to apply to their wiggly little bodies.

We went to Florida at the beginning of April with our 6 month old daughter. I had read a response by the same nurse below that mentioned Blue Lizard. So I bought that and took it and she didn't get a speck of sun from what I could tell. There is a baby version and then another version for parents. It's sold at CVS and at dermatology offices. We just picked it up at CVS, like $6 a bottle or something. I had never heard of it, but anything formulated by Australians where the sun is that strong, I guessed it should work. Plus it was recommended by a nurse from a derm office. Have fun!

Hi DD! I highly recommend Arbonne's Baby Care Sunscreen SPF 30+.
You can protect your baby’s delicate skin with this gentle, water-resistant sunscreen that provides broad-spectrum sun protection. Formulated with SPF 30+, this lotion provides maximum protection for sensitive skin.

Key Ingredients: Oat, aloe and shea butter oils

Skin Types: Baby, children, plus extremely sensitive

One thing I've learned too through Arbonne is that you do not actually ever want to use anything higher than an SPF 30 on any skin type. Anything higher than SPF 30 can actually cause a chemical burn on the skin! Not good, especially for babies delicate skin!
If you're interested, please feel free to visit my website for samples and to contact me: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com. Thanks so much!
Enjoy your vacation!
Sincerely,

Last year, I bought Baby Blanket Tender Scalps from Babies 'R Us for our vacation. It is a small pink spray bottle & you just spray it right on their little heads. It worked really well. My youngest is very fair & burns super easy & she didn't get burned once! I was impressed. They make a whole line of products. Their web site is babyblanketsuncare.com

I found a company that sells products that are safe for us all - infants/toddlers definitely included. I don't know if we are aware of it, but there are lots of dangerous chemicals in lots of the products in our house, including the personal care products. We always look for safety with our littlest ones, which is to be understood completely but this company takes care of our whole family. Our skin absorbs everything, not just the sun, so we really need to be aware of all the things that we are all exposed to. I have switched to shopping with this company because I know my daughter is safe, but I know that my whole family is healthier at the same time. And the kicker - it's more cost-effective for us to be healthier. I would have never believed that until I did it myself. It just makes so much sense!
I don't sell anything or any of their stuff but I wouldn't mind getting your more info if you're interested.

Have a great one!
A.

I don't normally recommend Arbonne, but I do love their baby sunscreen. My son is blonde with fair skin (I'm blonde, hubby is red-head, little guy didn't stand a chance!) and he hasn't gotten burned once using the Arbonne product. If he will wear a hat at all, check out SunDay Afternoons hats (sundayafternoons.com). They are really comfortable and have a long back brim that hangs down over little necks. We liked them so much we got them for the whole family, adults included. They also carry the hats at REI and Sportsman's Warehouse.

Banana Boat makes a great sunscreen in a pink squeezable tube for kids. I have to get one that's like 50 spf as my son is so fair, but this stuff is great. AND, the best part, if he rubs his eyes it doesn't burn. That didn't happen with the other sunscreens that I have tried. The Banana Boat one was also recommended by my Pediatrician's office. Good luck and have a great time!
