Stroller Suggestions - Newport Beach,CA

My little guy is 6 months old and we recently found that our stroller and infant carrier were very uncomfortable for him. Sigh.. yes, it took us 6 months for us to figure this out.
We have recently purchased a Britax Advocate car seat and he's extremely content in it. It's higher up which gives him a better vantage point of the world, his back and tummy are straight and not slouched, and it's very soft and cushioned.
So, now we are on the lookout for a high-end stroller that will meet all his (and our) strolling needs. We want something that will be comfortable for him, that gives him a good vantage point, and keeps his back and tummy in a nice straight line. We also want something that is lightweight, that we can use on multiple surfaces, that we can accessorize with adult cupholders and kiddie snack packs, that has a decent sized basket, and will last for more than a few years... and a few pounds.
We are trying to limit our choices as there are so many choices out there. Some of the strollers we are looking at are the: Uppa Baby, the Quinny, and the Bumbleride. Anyone have any other suggestions, or have purchased one of the above and LOVE your stroller? Please feel free to give us your input.

We had the Peg Perego Pliko and loved it. However, I suggest taking your son to Babies R Us (or some similar place) and try out every single stroller to see which he likes best. You can also try them out to see which is easiest to open and close, etc.

Good luck!

I wrote that review for the Maclaren Techno. It doesn't have all the accessories you want, but I was happy to live without it because I got more out of this stroller (long term use). The latest Maclaren designs are better (more stroller shade, more pockets, and you can even buy a coffee cup accessory).

A lot of companies have copied the Maclaren, Uppa Baby being the latest one. Compare them side by side if you wish.

I tried and hated the Peg Pilko. Too heavy and bullky for me. I purchased one used at a garage sale (great price, great condition) because I knew I was testing out strollers and I re-sold it fast.

My 2 favorite strollers for long term use are the Maclaren Volo (super light) and Maclaren Techno.

The Quinny looks super mod, but what's the weight limit? 40lbs? The Maclarens go up to 50. What if you have a hefty toddler? Why spend all that money on something you can't use long term and doesn't even have a shade cover?

My daughter (now 6) is very tall and can rest and recline and hide in the Maclaren with the hood. We were using it for travel up to last year - it held up great. That is almost 6 years of use for 1 child! I don't know if you can get that from that mod Quinny or other newer ones.

Definitely go a big store and test them out. In NYC, everyone used to have Maclaren's (they were the best to handle the pavement). Now folks use those or the new Bugaboo. If it were me, I'd stick with Maclaren.

We have the Quinny and LOVE it. The ride is magnificent, the stroller seat options for tilt are vast and the storage is pretty good! Not to mention all the "freebies" that (I think) they still give with it - bug shield, rain shield, storage pack, etc...

I'm very excited to use the pram attachment when I have our second here in a couple of weeks.

Big props over here for Quinny! (Their Buzz is also terrific as a highly portable "umbrella" type stroller!

I'm a big fan of Uppa baby - it's a great stroller and with its recent improvements in its 2010 line, it's fantastic.

We just love our Uppababy! Our daughter is now two, and we are still able to use the stroller comfortably. All the stroller fabric is washable, which comes in handy with kids. The basket is massive, it fold easily and the child sits very high off the ground in comparison to other strollers. I can't say enough good things about it.

I absolutely love my BOB stroller. I cannot say enough good things about it and its versatility from the mall to the Zoo to walking around the beach. Almost everyone in San Diego has a BOB and we also have a double BOB too. We like it that much! :)

Just. Like other moms I CANNOT say enough good things about the uppa baby. Its really amazing. U can even make it a double stroller when you want and take it out when u don't... Its amazing... U can even get a thing called the piggyback ... If u have another baby. U can get an adapter and use it with your carseat, or use the bassinet or reg stroller seat. The basket IS huge and the wheels are as good as jogging. Strollers... Its like having 10 strollers in one I swear... U can even get 20% off if u order it online from bed bath and beyond (take ur receipt in later)
