My 17 month is teething (like 4 teeth at once). He seems to keep having very frequent bowel movements. No strange colors-just brown. And more runny consistency. Is this some weird diaherria (he has no fever and acts normal). Is it from teething? His diet hasn't really changed from normal to my knowledge. Any advice appreciated!

Loose stools are typical for teething babies as a result of all of the drool that typically accompanies teething. Nothing to worry about.
Both my daughter had the same problem... when they were teething they really didn't have the extra drool problem... but instead they got diaherria and sometimes runny noses too. It will pass, just be extra careful with the diaper changes because it will be more likely that she gets bad diaper rash.
Hi! I have heard that teething can cause sinus drainage, which can lead to an upset stomach. Just be sure he's staying hydrated - lots of water is best.
I think it is common for kids to get diarrhea when they are teething. If nothing else is going on and he is eating fine, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it lasts for more than a week, I'd let his pediatrician know. If he runs fever or acts lethargic get medical attention right away. My son went through something similar while teething. The only time that it was a medical condition was when his stools smelled somewhat fishy and he had mucous and undigested foods in his diaper. He was prescribed an antibiotic and that cleared it up.

Teething can make a child have loose stools. If it continues or if your child starts acting or looking "sick" get him to the doctor.
