I have a big decision to make this year. I have three kids now. 4, 3 and 9mon. The four year old is in preschool now. I have been home for three years but really loved my job as a teacher before hand. I am thinking I want to go back this next year but we are also planning on having one more child. I have this guilt thing going in my head that I was home with the other kids I should stay home until the other one arrives and they get in school too. Anyone else have this tug of war going on and what did you decide.

What can I do next?

Going back to work is hard. Kids are resiliant. If you are happy, they are happier.

I also had that quandry. I stayed home with my daughter (now 9)till she was 2. I went back right after my son was born, and then when my 3rd was born I threw in the towel and decided to stay home with them and start a home business. We too are considering a 4th and I couldn't imagine working outside the home again. At times I miss my old job (I was a global marketing manager) but now I have a great career at home and most importantly I'm there for the kids when they need me.

What ever you decide good luck and god bless
Carrie

You should feel no guilt as a parent if you decide to return to work. I love my daughter more than life itself, but I need to work at least part time to keep me healthy and to make the time that my daughter and I spend together ever more precious. The interaction with the other children will do your child well, as will learning to trust other adults. He/She will become more independent quicker, and you may just find that you child loves the activities and education that they are exposed to while in childcare.

No matter what choice you make, do NOT feel guilty. I have been on both sides, working single mom and now a stay at home daycare provider.
My personal thought is I loved to stay at home the first year, but thats not always possible. If you can make it happen, I would....
I hated dropping my babies off at daycare!
