my daughter lexis is is 11yrs. old and she has friends in school, but none out of school. What i'm really looking to do is for her to get to know someone outside of her school enviroment and even me i could use a friend who understands what it's like for me. we are always by ourselves at parks well one park is all i know, we have our fun but well i dont know how toexplain it. she will be entering pickering in sept and i am really nervous for her.

I can totally sympathize. I have a 12 year old (today!) son who has PDD-NOS. He has a hard time making/keeping friends. If you'd like to chat you can email me at ____@____.com.

Hi Rosie -

It is tough isn't it? My son is 8 but he is non-verbal and really doesn't care about having any friends at all. I have arranged playdates with other parents after meeting them through our local PAC through the schools, so you might try that option. Also the North Shore ARC in Danvers will help include you and your child in social groups such as the Spotlight program which can make a tremendous difference! Good luck!

Hi Rosie,

I don't have any specific advice at all, but you sounded a little sad and frustrated, so I just wanted to say hang in there! I hope things get easier for you and your daughter!
